Google Maps New Reviews Monitor: Only Fresh Reviews + Alerts

Get only the new Google Maps reviews for any business, posted since your last run. No re-downloading hundreds of old reviews every time. Get an instant Slack / webhook alert for low-star reviews so you can respond before they hurt you.

Paste a Google Maps place URL, click Start, then schedule it daily.

Who uses this

  • Business owners & franchise managers: know about every new review the same day, and reply to unhappy customers fast.
  • Marketing & reputation agencies: monitor all your clients' locations in one scheduled run and send them a weekly digest.
  • Multi-location brands: compare new ratings across branches over time.
  • Competitor watchers: see what customers say about a competitor this week.

How it works

  1. Opens the place in Google Maps and sorts reviews by Newest.
  2. Reads new reviews until it reaches one it already saw on your previous run, then stops. This is fast and cheap.
  3. Saves where it stopped, per business, so the next run only returns what's new.
  4. Sends a webhook / Slack alert if any new review is at or below your star threshold (default 3★).

First run: returns up to maxReviews of the latest reviews and saves a baseline. Every run after that: only reviews posted since.

Low-star alerts (Slack, Zapier, Make, webhook)

Put a URL in Low-rating alert webhook URL:

  • Slack: paste a Slack Incoming Webhook URL. You get a readable message in your channel.
  • Zapier / Make / your server: you receive the full JSON (place, threshold and all matching reviews).

Alerts fire only when a run finds at least one new review at or below your threshold. A failed alert never breaks the run.

Tips

  • Schedule it: Apify Console → Schedules → run daily with your list of places. Connect Google Sheets or email to collect every new review automatically.
  • Several businesses: add one URL per business in the same run.
  • Proxy: residential proxy is recommended (default). Google blocks datacenter IPs quickly.
  • Dates: Google shows relative dates ("2 days ago"), so approxIsoDate is accurate to the day/week/month depending on age.

FAQ

Why did my second run return nothing? That's the point: there were no new reviews since the last run.

Can I get ALL historical reviews? Raise maxReviews on the first run. After that, the monitor only returns new ones.

Is my data shared between users? No. The "last seen" position is stored in your own Apify account.
