Pinterest Scraper API

Collect public Pinterest pins from board previews and individual pin links, with keyword and profile feeds when Pinterest makes them available. Keep image and video references, descriptions, destination links and available engagement fields in one consistent export.

Use it to assemble design references, research content ideas or find the websites behind relevant pins. Alongside the dataset, you get a visual research view with destination-domain counts and a coverage report that explains what was scanned, filtered or unavailable.

Base price: $1.25 per 1,000 exported pins. No startup or separate enrichment fee. Normal platform and built-in proxy usage are included in the event price. Maintained by CleanScrape.

Search results have no pin links. Pinterest hides pin links from logged-out visitors in keyword search. Search pins are still saved with their image, title, description, destination website, pinner, board and date, but pinUrl is empty and pinId is Pinterest's encrypted search ID. That ID stays the same between runs, so it still works for removing duplicates. Board and pin links give pins with normal links. A reference that carries no content is not saved or charged, and the run report counts it.

The form opens with a public board example and a 10-pin limit. Replace its link with your own public board or pin link. For a keyword-only run, clear the example board link before adding Search terms. Text matching, media and date controls are under Optional filters. Advanced options contains additional public pin details, scan limits and connection settings.

Start with a public board

1. Leave the example board link in Pinterest links or accounts, or paste your own public board link.
2. Keep Maximum pins at 10 for a small first run.
3. Click Start, then open Pins for the results or Research view for images and source links.
4. Check Run report for coverage before treating the export as complete. A restricted board may expose only its public preview, up to 50 pins.

Ten saved pins cost $0.0125 at the base price. You do not need a Pinterest login or numeric board ID.

Home-office research preset

This keyword preset saves search pins without pin links (see above). Use a board or individual pin link when you need links to the pins themselves.

Open the home-office example. It requests up to 50 matching pins, uses All words of my search, and enables additional public pin details. Change the topic to research your own ideas.

50 delivered pins cost $0.0625 at base rates, with no startup or separate detail-lookup fee. The preset has a $0.10 spending cap. A requested limit is not a guarantee of enough matching pins.

Start with Pins for pin titles, links and source websites. Open Research view, then RESEARCH_VIEW, for the visual report shown in the video below. Destination links and engagement fields appear only when supplied by Pinterest.

Watch a real run

Let's use fall soup recipes as an example. This short demo follows a real 100-pin search from the form to the destination websites, the Research view and the Excel/CSV export.

The demo uses the default settings. Search pins come without a link to the pin itself (see above). To open the visual report, choose Research view in Output, then open the RESEARCH_VIEW record. Source websites appear only when Pinterest supplies a destination link.

For a focused spreadsheet, export Pins; choose All fields when you want the complete dataset.

Start with an example

Let's research home-office ideas and find the original websites behind them.

1. Clear the example board link and add home office under Search terms.
2. Set Maximum pins to 50.
3. For a tightly matched list, open Optional filters and set Search matching to All words of my search. Leave Pinterest relevance selected for broader recommendations.
4. Click Start. Open Output for the pins, Research view for a visual preview and destination-domain counts, and Run report for coverage.
5. Export the dataset as CSV, Excel or JSON. Open outboundUrl to inspect an original source rather than treating the Pinterest link as the source website.

The same workflow works with your own topic. No Pinterest login, cookies, developer token or numeric board ID is required.

Collect a board, profile or individual pin

1. Leave Search terms empty for a link-only run.
2. Paste the public page link into Pinterest links or accounts. Any country's Pinterest works (fi.pinterest.com, pinterest.co.uk), https:// is optional, and an account name such as @pinterest also works. A board link includes the account and board name; a profile link stops at the account name; an individual pin uses /pin/ followed by its ID.
3. Set Maximum pins, then run. Individual-pin links return only those pins; board and profile links collect available feed pins up to the limit.

Search matching affects keyword searches only. Include any, Exclude any, media and date filters also apply to linked pins. When switching from a heavily filtered search, review those filters if linked results are missing. Profiles can include saved pins; attribution is not proof of original authorship.

Some boards expose only a preview without login. When Pinterest restricts or cannot serve the normal board feed, the Actor tries Pinterest's public board preview instead, after confirming the board's identity. This can return up to 50 pins with normal pin links; it is not the board's full history, and filters can leave fewer results. The run message and report identify preview coverage. Increasing Maximum pins does not expand that preview. Only saved pins are charged; restricted references and failed lookups are not.

If Pinterest asks the connection to wait, short waits are retried within the run; waits longer than 30 seconds stop that request instead of retrying too soon. Other usable input links can still return results. The public preview has its own availability limits, and neither retries nor a proxy guarantee access.

What can I collect?

You can combine up to 25 inputs. Pins are deduplicated by their ID within a run. A pin's source fields identify its first accepted input, not every query it might match. The maximum result count applies to the whole run; inputs are processed in the order provided.

Private boards, logged-in account data, comment text, board sections and exhaustive profile archives are not supported. Media URLs are provided as references; this Actor does not download or grant rights to the media files.

Choose the results you need

Setting	How to use it
Maximum pins	Your total output cap, from 1 to 5,000. Fewer results can be available.
Search matching (Optional filters)	Pinterest relevance, all query words, or the exact phrase in the pin's title, description or alt text. Matching is case-insensitive and ignores punctuation.
Include any / Exclude any	Optional words or phrases in those same text fields. Exclusion takes priority. These are literal text filters, not AI classifications.
Media type	Keep all pins, image pins or video pins.
Pin creation date	Any date, last 7 days, last 30 days or last 90 days. No date-format entry needed.
More pin details (Advanced options)	Fetch each pin's detail page as well. This can fill in more dates and engagement counts; fields Pinterest does not provide stay empty. No extra charge.
Scan limit (optional)	The most feed pins to examine, including duplicates and filtered pins. Default: at least 500, rising with Maximum pins.
Connection	Automatic is recommended: it starts with a direct connection and switches to a residential proxy for a limited number of retries when needed. Direct only and Residential proxy are for troubleshooting.

Pinterest can return broad recommendations even for an obscure search. Use All words of my search or Exact query phrase if relevance must be backed by the visible text. Strict matching can exclude useful synonyms and pins whose relevant text is only inside the image.

The date filter uses the pin's source-reported creation date, not the date it was saved to a board, the publication date of the linked article, or the time it became popular. Pins without a usable date are excluded when a date filter is selected. Missing dates trigger a best-effort detail lookup.

Output fields

Each dataset row is a real exported pin, never a diagnostic or error record.

Missing fields are null, not invented zeros. A real source-reported zero stays zero. Pinner attribution does not establish original authorship. Saves, comments and shares are different measures; none should be presented as views, sales or demand.

Find the websites behind Pinterest pins

Use outboundUrl to open a pin's destination website and outboundDomain to group pins by website in a spreadsheet. Some pins have no external link. The Research view presents the first 200 exported pins with source links, destination-domain counts for the full export, and a per-input coverage table. It is a lightweight preview, not an extra paid dataset.

The machine-readable Run report records scanned/exported counts, filters, duplicate skips, detail failures, connection attempts and stopping reasons. responseBytes measures decoded response bytes, not billable proxy traffic. Check this report before treating the output as complete.

result_limit and charge_limit are intentional stops. scan_limit, repeated pagination, unavailable details and source failures can leave partial output. A source returning no public pins (after one more try) is labelled empty_unverified, not proof that the board or profile is empty. If every input fails, the run fails instead of reporting an empty success.

Pricing and spending controls

The single billable event is one unique pin stored in the output dataset.

There is no startup fee, no charge event for duplicates, filtered pins or the reports, and no separate enrichment event. Built-in proxy and platform usage are included in this pay-per-event price. The same pin collected in a separate fresh run is a new result and is charged again.

Store-tier discounts are Bronze 10%, Silver 15% and Gold 20% off base event prices; higher eligible tiers receive the Gold rate. Apify displays your applicable price before you run. Set Maximum pins and Apify's maximum charge to control spending.

On a graceful interruption, the Actor finishes an in-flight result write and saves a final report. If the process is forcibly stopped, the report can lag behind the dataset; its checkpointAt timestamp identifies the last saved snapshot. Already exported rows remain in the dataset. Resurrecting a run that already has output deliberately does not scrape or charge again. Start a fresh run to collect more data; automatic continuation of an interrupted export is not supported in this version.

Use the API tab for JavaScript, Python and HTTP examples with your own Apify credential. Never share that credential in a public workflow or screenshot. Saved tasks and Apify schedules can repeat the same input; webhooks and integrations can move the resulting dataset into your workflow.

Do I need a Pinterest account or API key?

No. The Actor reads public pins without a login or API key.

Can I scrape a Pinterest board or profile?

Yes. Paste the board or profile link into Pinterest links or accounts. Search terms and single pin links work too.

Does it download the images?

It returns the image and video links, not the files. You can download them from the links, or use the Images and videos view to look through them.

Does it work with pinterest.co.uk and other country sites?

Yes. Links from Pinterest country sites are accepted.

How much does it cost to scrape Pinterest?

Limits and support

Pinterest controls public availability, ranking, pagination and rate limits. Results may differ from a logged-in or differently located browser. A maximum of 5,000 pins is an output cap, not guaranteed coverage. Requests and response sizes are bounded; difficult inputs may stop earlier. Image/video links and public fields can change after collection.
