Search numbers vs output numbers not the same

I've recently noticed something odd with the Actor. When I run a search and get lets say 150 people, the output ends up being 1,000 results. I'm not sure how that's possible—I've even searched the output for several specific names from my search string, and it seems about 50% of them are included.
I’d really appreciate some help looking into this. I've been using the Actor for a while and really like it, but if it’s not producing accurate results, I won’t be able to continue to use it.
