Thomasnet is where American industrial buyers go to find who actually makes a part. Type what you need the way you would type it into their search box, add a state, city or ZIP if you want it local, and get supplier companies back as rows: address, phone, website, year founded, headcount, annual sales and their ISO and AS9100 certifications.

There are no email addresses in here. Thomasnet does not publish them, so no row has one. You get the phone number and the website and you enrich from there.

🔍 What Thomasnet Suppliers Scraper does

Thomasnet files suppliers under categories. Your search term is matched to the closest ones and each is paged in turn, which is how a run gets past the handful of rows a plain text search will give you. maxCategories controls how many it walks: leave it at 1 to stay tightly on topic, raise it when you want a big maxItems filled from neighbouring categories too.

Location works two different ways, and the difference matters. A 5-digit ZIP goes through Thomasnet's own radius filter, so the results really are inside the radius and every row carries distanceMiles. A state or a city goes through Thomasnet's regional index instead, and that index means "serves this region" rather than "is based here". So the run then drops any supplier whose address is outside the state, and outside the city when you named one. Dropped rows are not charged, and the run's status message says how many went.

tgramsId	Thomasnet's own company id. Stable, so use it as your dedupe key.
description	Thomasnet's supplier blurb, which is usually a dense paragraph of what they make, the materials and the industries served. The most useful free-text field on the row.
companyType	Manufacturer, Distributor, Custom Manufacturer, Service Company and so on. otherActivities holds the extra hats they wear.
numberEmployees, annualSales	Bands as Thomasnet publishes them, like 10-49 and $5 - 9.9 Mil, not numbers.
certificationTitles	A plain list, easy to filter on. certifications is the same list with the type, group, audit scope and certificate date.
distanceMiles	Only filled in on ZIP searches. null everywhere else.
thomasVerified, isClaimed	Whether Thomasnet has verified the listing and whether the company has claimed its profile.
yearFounded, phone, website	Present on most rows but not all. A blank means Thomasnet does not publish it for that company.

Do not filter on ok: true. Only the sample and diagnostic rows carry ok at all, so that filter keeps exactly the rows you do not want and drops every supplier. Filter on _sample and _diagnostic being absent instead.

errorCode	What it means
LOCATION_NOT_FOUND	That place could not be resolved. The run then searches the whole country, so check the state column before treating the rows as local.
NO_RESULTS	The search ran and matched nothing. Try a broader term.
AUTH_WALL	Thomasnet asked for an account for that request.
BLOCKED	Thomasnet turned the request down. Try again in a few minutes.
API_ERROR, BAD_RESPONSE	Thomasnet answered with something that could not be read.
HTTP_ERROR, NETWORK_ERROR	The request did not complete. Re-run it.

You pay per supplier row. Suppliers dropped by the location filter are not charged, the sample row is not charged, and diagnostic rows are not charged. Turning certifications off does not change the price, it just makes each row smaller.

🚧 What it does not do

• No email addresses. Thomasnet does not publish them.
• North America only, and overwhelmingly the US. That is Thomasnet's coverage, not a setting.
• Company-level data only. No product catalogues, no CAD files, no pricing and no RFQ submission.
• A term with no matching category stops at 25 rows. Thomasnet lets a signed-out plain-text search go that far and no further. Most real product terms do match a category and page into the hundreds. If you asked for 200 rows of an unusual phrase and got 25, that is why.
• Row counts are what Thomasnet lists. Setting maxItems to 500 does not invent suppliers that are not in the category, and a category can also stop early. A count that looks short is worth re-running before you conclude it is the whole market.
• numberEmployees and annualSales are bands, not figures, and they are self-reported to Thomasnet.
• A city or state search filters on the company's address. A supplier who serves your state from the next one over is dropped, which is usually what you want and occasionally is not.

❓ Questions people ask

Do I need a Thomasnet account? No. Everything here is on public supplier pages.

Can I get supplier email addresses? No, because Thomasnet does not publish them. The phone number and website are on every row that has them.

Why did I only get 25 rows? Your term did not match a Thomasnet category, so the search fell back to plain text, which stops at 25. A broader term usually fixes it.

What is the difference between a ZIP search and a city search? A ZIP uses Thomasnet's radius and fills in distanceMiles. A city or state filters on the company's own address afterwards.

Do certifications come with dates? The ones Thomasnet publishes dates for, yes, in the certifications array along with the audit scope.

Is scraping Thomasnet legal? These are public business listings. Check Thomasnet's terms and your own local rules before using the output commercially. Apify's write-up on scraping and the law is a good starting point, and we are not lawyers.
