How It Works

What counts as a valid location? Any location that exists on Instagram — cities, neighborhoods, landmarks, restaurants, stores, event venues, parks, hotels. If people can tag it when posting on Instagram, you can scrape it.

How many posts can I get per location? The actor extracts all publicly visible posts tagged at that location. Popular locations like "Times Square" will return more results than a small local business.

Can I search by GPS coordinates instead of name? Currently the input is a location name that matches Instagram's location database. The output includes GPS coordinates for every post, which you can use for geographic filtering after export.

Does it return posts from private accounts? No. Only posts from public profiles that are tagged at the location.

What if multiple locations share a name? Instagram's location search returns the most relevant match. For precise targeting, use the most specific name available (e.g., "Blue Bottle Coffee Hayes Valley" instead of just "Blue Bottle Coffee").
