What This Actor Does

Instagram's native Reposts tab (launched August 2025) is a permanent, public list of content an account has reshared from other creators — Instagram's version of a retweet. This actor returns that entire tab for any public profile.

Input: one public Instagram username or profile URL → Output: one dataset row per reposted item.

Not what this does: it does not find every account that reposted your content. For inbound repost tracking, monitor a post's repost count over time with the Instagram Post & Reel Details Scraper.

Input

maxResults	Integer	Maximum number of reposted items to return (1–1000, default 10).

Only username is required. A run is bounded by maxResults, so cost and runtime stay predictable.

Output Fields

Every row keeps the complete raw repost media node from Instagram (all upstream fields such as id, code, media_type, product_type, taken_at, user.*, caption.*, image_versions, carousel_media, location, music_metadata, tagged_users, and the engagement counts) plus these flattened convenience fields at the top level:

play_count, save_count, repost_count, share_count, view_count	Additional engagement metrics when present

The dataset view in the Apify Console shows a curated Reposts table (creator, verified, type, thumbnail, caption, permalink, likes, comments, reposts, posted date) and a flat Research export view for spreadsheets and AI agents.

Error and empty rows

When a profile has no reposts or the upstream call fails, the actor emits one row:

FAQ

Is Instagram Reposts a new feature? Yes — launched August 2025. It is a dedicated tab on every public profile showing content that account reshared. Because it is new, many profiles are still filling it.

What if a profile has no reposts? You get one no_reposts_found error row and are charged only the start event — not for empty results.

Does this show who reposted MY post? No. This actor takes a profile and returns what that profile reposted. For inbound tracking, monitor your post's repost_count over time with the Instagram Post & Reel Details Scraper.

Can I run this on private profiles? No. Only public profiles expose a Reposts tab; private profiles return no data.

How many reposts can a profile have? There is no known cap. The tab shows every repost since the feature launched, so early adopters may have many more than new accounts.

Can I scrape multiple profiles in one run? No — one public profile per run. Run the actor once per target (or chain runs) for multiple profiles.
