Pay per result: you only pay for awards returned. Duplicates are removed before you're charged.
Notes
- Covers contract award types A–D (BPA calls, purchase orders, delivery orders, definitive contracts).
- Date semantics. The date range matches contract actions (obligations and modifications), not the award's start date. By default (
dateType: action_date) a 10-year-old contract that was modified last week is returned. SetdateTypetonew_awards_onlyto get only awards whose first action falls in the window ("who just won a new contract"). amount_usdis the award's total obligated amount to date, not the size of the action in the window.- Results are sorted by award amount (largest first) and paged with the API's keyset cursor, so deep result sets (10,000+) are complete and duplicate-free.
- Data comes from USAspending.gov, which may lag the actual award date by several days.
- Department of Defense awards are published with a ~90-day delay (a DoD reporting rule). For DoD searches, use
daysBackof 120 or more.
