The actor can work on lower memories without any problem, which will cause way less CU consumption. In simple terms, cheaper and optimized. This is a run that we ran on 1GB of memory. Changing the memory will not increase the speed of the download, unfortunately. This speed is completely bound to Apify's transfer pace. The actor is already fetching the results properly, but whatever it gets, it also pushes to the KV. Therefore, our assumption is it is getting bottlenecked on KV upload.

I see, it’s bottle necked on the upload. Can you write to apify about this? I signed up for this and paying $50 and then $30 for your actor and then a fee for using it of $1 - doesn’t really scale well for us.
We can talk about the technical parts but since it is the infrastructural level, I'm not sure when that can be resolved.
However, I can understand your point of view. I cannot tell you anything on behalf of Apify, but if Apify accepts, we can reimburse the amount that we get in this flow. You can contact Apify regarding a reimbursement and we will happily give it back to you.

I really appreciate the work you're doing in providing the download service for YouTube videos. Currently, I pass the YouTube video URL into a replicate model using whisper to transcribe the video. However, the download time for the video is quite long, sometimes taking up to an hour.
I was wondering if there's a way we can find a solution to reduce this download time. It would be really beneficial for our workflow and overall efficiency.

Sorry for the late response. I believe we resolved this problem permanently. We deployed a new version to speed up the process. Therefore, it is working faster, and smoother than before.
One small note: we disabled the obligatory field proxy. After our investigation, we found out that one of the main issues that caused the slow speed was the proxy. Therefore, you can disable it now if you want. If you disable this option, the speed of the actor will improve even more and you can download the video faster.
On the other hand, some of the videos are region-specific. That's why we did not remove the proxy option completely. You can still use it, and workaround with such cases.
