- Optional filters: industries, ZIP codes, towns or neighborhoods, keywords, LLCs and corporations only.

What counts as "new"
- Texas: a new sales tax permit. Permits for businesses that were already selling more than 6 months before the permit (a new owner, or catching up on paperwork) are skipped unless you turn on Include established businesses.
- Chicago: a first business license at that location. Existing businesses that are only adding a license (a patio, liquor, tobacco), special events, raffles and licenses held by individuals are dropped.
- Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle: a new business tax registration, by the business's start date. Los Angeles businesses often register a few weeks after opening, so recent days fill in over time.
