Issue with Duplicate Data in the Doctoralia API

Open

Hi, I have an issue with the API: When I run it, the app retrieves many duplicate values or users who are no longer active on Doctoralia.

The problem is that each real data point ends up costing $0.76 USD. You offer 1,000 for $10 USD, but the API returns many duplicate and unusable values. In this case, it generated 1,276 data points, but only 171 are valid.

I would like to continue using the API, but only if this issue can be improved:

It should not return duplicate values. It should only return values that contain "phone numbers." Best regards, and thank you for your help.

Thank you for sharing these details. To help resolve the issues with duplicate data and inactive users, we need to better understand your setup and use case. Could you clarify:

  1. Query Parameters: What filters or parameters (e.g., location, specialty, pagination) are you currently using in your API requests? Duplicates often arise from overlapping queries or improper pagination handling.
  2. Business Case: Are you building a provider directory, lead generation tool, or another application? This will help us suggest optimizations tailored to your needs.
  3. Phone Number Filtering: Are you explicitly requesting phone numbers in your API call, or are you parsing results after retrieval? Some fields require specific permissions or parameters.

If the standard API lacks sufficient filters, we do offer a private advanced API with features like:

  • Strict deduplication (via unique user IDs or hashing).
  • Active-user filters (excluding inactive/deleted profiles).
  • Guaranteed phone number inclusion (if permitted by the provider’s profile settings).

Let us know your workflow details, and we’ll either adjust your current implementation or explore transitioning you to the advanced API for higher-quality results.

Best regards, Giovanni Bianciardi

Hi Giovanni,

Thank you for your response.

Regarding your questions:

  • Query Parameters: I am currently using Country: Chile, Region: Viña del Mar and Specialty: Psychologists.
  • Business Case: We are developing a provider directory.
  • Phone Number Filtering: The API does not allow me to set a filter to register only profiles with a phone number. I tried adding this condition in JSON, specifying that it should not register fields with empty or "N/A" phone numbers, but it didn’t work.
  • Duplicate Data: I’m not sure how to configure the API to prevent duplicate records.

What solutions could be applied to my case?

Looking forward to your help.

JSON: { "city": [ "viña del mar" ], "country": "Chile", "filters": { "phone_number": { "exclude": [ "", "N/A", null, [] ] } }, "professions": [ "Psicólogo" ] }
