What data does TikTok Sound Scraper, Videos by Music and Audio API return?
Each run returns one dataset item per result with these fields:
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
id | string or null | TikTok's numeric video ID, as a string (it is too long for a JSON number). Null on a sound error row. |
url | string | The video's canonical page, https://www.tiktok.com/@handle/video/ID. On a sound error row, the sound page that was tried. |
inputUrl | string | The video link as the sound page listed it. On a sound error row, your sound entry exactly as given. |
sound | string | The numeric id of the sound from your input whose page listed this video. On an error row for an entry that is not a sound, your entry as given. |
soundTitle | string or null | The input sound's title, from the video's own music details when they name the input sound; null when the video's music is a different sound (see music). |
soundAuthor | string or null | The artist or account credited for the input sound, from the video's own music details when they name the input sound; null otherwise. |
text | string | The video caption, hashtags included, as written by the creator. |
createTime | string or null | When the video was posted (ISO 8601, UTC). |
durationSec | number or null | Video length in seconds. |
playCount | integer or null | Play count as TikTok shows it at the time of the run (TikTok rounds large numbers, for example 1200000). |
likeCount | integer or null | Like (heart) count. |
commentCount | integer or null | Comment count. |
shareCount | integer or null | Share count. |
collectCount | integer or null | How many times the video was saved to favorites. |
hashtags | array of string | Hashtag names used in the caption, without the # sign, in caption order. |
music | object or null | The sound used in the video: id, title, the name credited for the sound, and whether it is the creator's original sound. |
coverUrl | string or null | Link to the video's cover image (a still frame). TikTok signs these links and they expire after a few days. |
isAd | boolean or null | True when TikTok marks the video as an ad. |
author | object | The account that posted the video: handle, display name, verified badge and follower count. No bio, avatar or contact details. |
scrapedAt | string | When this row was collected (ISO 8601, UTC). |
error | string or null | Null on a video row. On a free error row, why no video was delivered for this URL. |

Use cases
- Sound and music research: see which videos use a sound right now, with their views, likes, comments, shares and saves, ready for a spreadsheet.
- Music marketing and label tracking: follow your track's TikTok sound and collect the videos that use it with their numbers and the creator's handle.
- Creator discovery: find the accounts posting with a sound and compare how their videos perform (handle, display name, verified badge and follower count only).
- Content research: collect captions, hashtags used together and video lengths of the videos made with a sound.
- AI agents and automations: a clean, typed dataset that an agent or a Make, Zapier or n8n flow can read directly, one row per video.
Input examples
The prefilled example input. It runs in seconds and returns a handful of results:
{"sounds": ["https://www.tiktok.com/music/Oh-No-Instrumental-6889520563052645121"],"maxVideosPerSound": 10,"maxItems": 10}
| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
sounds | array | yes | TikTok sounds, one per line (bulk paste works). Use the sound's music page URL, such as https://www.tiktok.com/music/Oh-No-Instrumental-6889520563052645121, or only its numeric id, such as 6889520563052645121. Duplicates are loaded once. Up to 100 per run. | |
maxVideosPerSound | integer | no | 50 | How many videos to collect for each sound, in the order TikTok lists them on the sound's page. The page is scrolled until this many are listed or TikTok shows no more. Up to 80 (TikTok usually stops showing more after about 85 to 110). |
maxItems | integer | no | Stop after this many videos are in your dataset, across all sounds. You pay per video, so this also caps the cost of a run. Leave empty to collect every sound in full. | |
maxRetries | integer | no | 3 | How many more times a sound page that shows no videos, or a video page that arrives without data, is loaded again, each time through a new proxy IP, before it gets a free error row. |
How much does TikTok Sound Scraper, Videos by Music and Audio API cost?
This actor uses pay-per-event pricing: you pay only for results you get, plus a small fee per run. Higher Apify plans get a lower price per result.
| Event | Free plan | Bronze plan | Silver plan | Gold plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Video (per 1,000) | $3.10 | $3.10 | $2.80 | $2.50 |
| Actor start (per run) | $0.00005 | $0.00005 | $0.00005 | $0.00005 |
1,000 results cost $3.1001 on the Bronze plan. In one run, 1,000 results cost $3.1001 on the Free plan, $3.1001 on the Bronze plan, $2.8001 on the Silver plan and $2.5001 on the Gold plan, including the actor start.
Video: One TikTok video row with data in your dataset. Sounds that list no videos, videos whose page does not arrive, deleted videos, photo posts and duplicates are free. Actor start: Charged once when a run starts (Apify counts one start per GB of memory). You can set a maximum cost per run in the run options; the actor stops cleanly when it is reached.
Schedule and monitor
Track a sound over time: save your sounds as a task and schedule it daily or weekly. Each run adds a dataset of the videos TikTok lists for each sound at that moment, with their current views, likes, comments, shares and saves and a scrapedAt time, so you can see which videos using your sound rise and how its top content changes.
Run TikTok Sound Scraper, Videos by Music and Audio API on a schedule to keep your data fresh and to monitor what changed since the last run:
- Run the actor once with your input, then save that input as a task in Apify Console.
- Open Schedules in Apify Console, click Create new, choose the task and set how often it runs with a cron expression, for example
0 6 * * 1for every Monday at 06:00. Schedules support time zones and daylight saving time. - Every scheduled run writes a new dataset. Compare it with the previous run, or send it onward with a webhook or one of the integrations below.
Integrations and API
TikTok Sound Scraper, Videos by Music and Audio API runs on the Apify platform, so its results can go wherever Apify connects:
- API: start a run and read the results over HTTP from any language (examples below).
- Make, Zapier and n8n: Apify has official integrations for all three. Run the actor from a Make scenario, a Zap or an n8n workflow and pass each result to the next step, such as a spreadsheet, a CRM or a chat message.
- Webhooks: have Apify call your own URL when a run succeeds or fails, for example to load the new dataset into your system.
- Schedules: run it automatically at the times you choose (see Schedule and monitor above).
- Downloads: export any run's dataset as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, HTML table, RSS or JSONL.
Run it with the API
One request starts a run and returns its dataset items, for runs that finish within 300 seconds. For bigger runs, start the run, then read its dataset when it finishes.
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/actors/hhonlineventures~tiktok-sound-videos/run-sync-get-dataset-items" \-H "Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>" \-H "Content-Type: application/json" \-d '{"sounds": ["https://www.tiktok.com/music/Oh-No-Instrumental-6889520563052645121"], "maxVideosPerSound": 10, "maxItems": 10}'
JavaScript, with npm install apify-client:
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>' });const run = await client.actor('hhonlineventures/tiktok-sound-videos').call({"sounds": ["https://www.tiktok.com/music/Oh-No-Instrumental-6889520563052645121"], "maxVideosPerSound": 10, "maxItems": 10});const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();console.log(items);
Python, with pip install apify-client:
from apify_client import ApifyClientclient = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")run = client.actor("hhonlineventures/tiktok-sound-videos").call(run_input={'sounds': ['https://www.tiktok.com/music/Oh-No-Instrumental-6889520563052645121'], 'maxVideosPerSound': 10, 'maxItems': 10})for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():print(item)
Your API token is in Apify Console under API & Integrations.
Use with AI agents (MCP)
AI agents can run TikTok Sound Scraper, Videos by Music and Audio API as a tool through the Apify MCP server (https://mcp.apify.com). The agent reads the input schema and the output fields above, fills in the input and gets the dataset back, with no glue code.
To give an agent exactly this actor, add the server to your MCP client with the actor in the tools parameter:
{"mcpServers": {"apify": {"url": "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=hhonlineventures/tiktok-sound-videos"}}}
On first connection your browser opens so you can sign in to Apify and approve access. A client that cannot do that can send an Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN> header instead, and a client that runs only local servers can start npx -y @apify/actors-mcp-server with APIFY_TOKEN set.
Then ask in plain language, for example:
Run TikTok Sound Scraper, Videos by Music and Audio API with this input:
{"sounds": ["https://www.tiktok.com/music/Oh-No-Instrumental-6889520563052645121"], "maxVideosPerSound": 10, "maxItems": 10}. Show me the results as a table.
The server also has search-actors, fetch-actor-details and call-actor tools, which let an agent find this actor in Apify Store, read its details and run it. Agent runs are charged the same pay-per-event prices as any other run.
Limits
- You get the videos TikTok shows on the public sound page, in the order it shows them. TikTok decides which videos it lists and in what order; it is not a complete list of every video that uses the sound.
- Up to 80 videos per sound. The page is scrolled until your number is listed or TikTok shows no more. In our tests TikTok stopped adding videos after about 85 to 110 per page load, and photo posts on the page are not counted.
- Photo posts (slideshows) that use the sound are skipped: this actor returns videos only.
- Sometimes TikTok answers with an empty page instead of the sound's videos. The actor then loads the sound again through a new proxy IP (3 more times by default); if no videos appear, the sound gets a free row with an
errormessage. - A listed video whose page does not arrive after its retries, or that was deleted, gets a free row and is replaced by the next listed video, so you still get your number when the page listed enough.
- Counts are what TikTok shows on each video's public page at the time of the run. TikTok rounds large numbers (for example 1.2M views arrive as 1200000).
soundTitleandsoundAuthorcome from each video's own music details. When a listed video's music is a different sound (in our tests 4 of 444 listed videos), both are empty andmusicshows the video's own sound.coverUrlis a signed TikTok image link that expires after a few days. Save the image yourself if you need it longer.- A video listed under two of your sounds is delivered once, under the first one, and charged once.
- Sounds are read one after another, each in a real browser. In our tests one sound page load took about 8 to 55 seconds, about 50 seconds per sound on average including reloads of empty pages; then its videos are fetched at about one per second.
What this actor is not
- Not a sound search: no keyword search for sounds. You give it sound URLs or ids.
- Not a trending sounds list: it does not read TikTok's trending sounds or Creative Center rankings.
- Not an audio downloader: no audio or video files and no download links, only a cover image link.
- No usage count per sound: it does not return how many videos use a sound in total.
- Not a profile scraper: for each creator it returns the handle, display name, verified badge and follower count, nothing else (no bio, avatar or contact details).

FAQ
What do I need to run it?
Only sounds and an Apify account. No TikTok account, login, cookies or API key. Enter the sounds one per line, or send them as the sounds array through the API.
How do I find a sound's URL or id?
Open the sound on TikTok (tap the sound name under a video) and copy the page address, for example https://www.tiktok.com/music/Oh-No-Instrumental-6889520563052645121. The long number at the end is the sound id; you can enter only that number. Short share links (vm.tiktok.com) are not accepted: open them first and copy the music page address.
How many videos can I get per sound?
Set maxVideosPerSound (50 by default, up to 80). The actor scrolls the sound page until that many videos are listed or TikTok shows no more. Use maxItems to cap the whole run.
What am I charged for?
One video event per video row in your dataset, plus the actor start. Sounds that list no videos, videos whose page does not arrive, deleted videos, photo posts and duplicates are free.
Can I track a sound over time?
Yes. Save the input as a task and schedule it (for example every day). Each run adds a new dataset with the videos listed at that moment, their current counts and a scrapedAt time, so you can compare runs or send them to a spreadsheet.
Why does the order or the set of videos change between runs?
TikTok chooses which videos its sound page shows and in what order, and that changes over time. The actor returns what the page lists at the time of the run.
Does it download the audio?
No. It returns data about the videos that use the sound (counts, caption, hashtags, creator handle, the sound's id, title and credit), never the audio or video files.
What happens if I set a maximum cost per run?
The actor loads only as many sounds and videos as your limit pays for, then stops cleanly. Every video in your dataset was charged once; nothing else was.
Is it legal to collect this data?
The actor reads only public pages, the same ones anyone can open without logging in, and leaves out personal details such as bios and avatars. You are responsible for how you use the data and for following TikTok's terms and the laws that apply to you.
