FMCSA new MC authority leads for trucking companies, freight brokers and freight forwarders whose operating authority was just granted. Pick a date range, filter by state and entity type, and get legal/DBA name, business city/state, MC docket and insurance-on-file flags from FMCSA public data (no phones or emails).
- 🆕 New-authority leads: companies granted operating authority in your date range, newest first.
- 🎯 Filters: date range (or "last N days"), states, carriers / brokers / freight forwarders, still-active only.
- 🔒 No phone numbers or emails: business name and business city/state only, from FMCSA public data.
- 💲 $3.00 per 1,000 leads ($0.003 per row). No start fee, no run fee. Empty and failed runs, and companies skipped by your filters, are free.
Data source: U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) / Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) public data, which FMCSA publishes as open data on DOT's open data portal. Every row includes a
sourcefield crediting DOT/FMCSA.Disclaimer: Not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by FMCSA, USDOT or the US government. Results are not an official FMCSA determination. Always confirm a company's status on FMCSA's own site (safer.fmcsa.dot.gov) before booking a load or making a decision.
Vet these carriers: run the leads through FMCSA Carrier Vetting & Watchlist for authority age, revocations, insurance cancellations, out-of-service orders, safety rating and crash counts. Both tools use the same field names (usdot_number, legal_name, state, authority_status, bipd_on_file_usd, current_insurer and more), so you can pass usdot_number straight in.
What does it do?
- It asks FMCSA's public open-data API for all operating-authority grants in your date range in one large request (paged at 50,000 rows).
- It looks up licensing, business address and insurance for those companies in batches of 300 USDOT numbers per request (never one request per company), with retries and backoff.
- It applies your filters and saves one row per USDOT number, newest grant first, until it reaches Max results.
In local tests on 2026-10-28, the default input (last 7 days, 100 leads) took 1.6 to 5.6 seconds of Actor time with 3 HTTP requests, and the full last 30 days (6,571 leads) took 25.5 seconds with 45 requests and about 82 MB of memory. The last 30 days had about 6,600 new authority grants.
Who is it for?
- Freight-industry sales teams: factoring, fuel cards, ELD and telematics, TMS and dispatch software, load boards, trailer leasing, permits and compliance services.
- Commercial truck insurance agents: see new authorities and who already has their BIPD and cargo filings.
- Freight brokers and 3PLs: discover new carriers in your lanes, then vet them.
- Recruiting and market research teams: track new entrants by state and authority type over time.
Input
| Field | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
daysBack | 7 | Grants from the last N days (including today). Used when dateFrom is empty. |
dateFrom, dateTo | empty | Exact range, YYYY-MM-DD. dateTo empty = today. Max 366 days per run. |
states | all | Business-address states: TX, ca, Florida... |
entityTypes | all three | carrier (property, household goods, passengers), broker, freight_forwarder. |
onlyCurrentlyActive | true | Skip companies whose new authority is no longer Active (already revoked or suspended). |
includeFleetDetails | false | Adds power units, drivers, USDOT status, operation type, hazmat and MCS-150 date from the FMCSA Company Census File. That file can be slow to query (about 20 s for 50 companies in tests); if it doesn't answer, rows are still saved without these fields. |
maxResults | 100 | Stop after this many leads (newest first). Set it high, e.g. 10000, for full lists. |
{"daysBack": 30,"states": ["TX", "OK", "LA"],"entityTypes": ["carrier"],"onlyCurrentlyActive": true,"includeFleetDetails": false,"maxResults": 2000}
Tip: schedule it daily with "daysBack": 1 (or 2, to allow for late updates) to get each day's new authorities.
What's in each row?
| Area | Fields |
|---|---|
| Company | usdot_number, legal_name, dba_name, city, state, country (business city/state as filed with FMCSA licensing; no street or zip, same as Carrier Vetting) |
| New authority | entity_type, authority_granted_date, days_since_granted, docket_number (MC/FF number), authority_type, granted_authorities (each grant in range with its current status) |
| All authorities | authority_status (ACTIVE / PENDING / INACTIVE), authorities (docket, type, status, insurance required vs. on file) |
| Insurance | bipd_required_usd, bipd_on_file_usd, cargo_required, cargo_on_file, bond_required, bond_on_file, current_insurer, insurance_policies (up to 5) |
| Fleet (optional) | usdot_status, carrier_operation, entity_class, business_type, power_units, drivers, hazmat, mcs150_date, usdot_added_date |
| Links and credit | fmcsa_snapshot_url (the company's page on FMCSA's own site), source, disclaimer, retrieved_at |
There are no phone numbers, emails, company officers or mailing addresses in the output. Emails and phone-like numbers are also stripped from names and addresses.
A run summary (date range, counts, companies skipped for free and why, HTTP request counts) is saved as RUN_SUMMARY in the run's key-value store.

Pricing
$3.00 per 1,000 leads. One carrier-lead event ($0.003) per saved row. There's no start fee and no run fee. You aren't charged for runs that find nothing, failed runs, or companies skipped by your filters (other states, other authority types, no longer active). If you set a maximum cost per run, the Actor stops cleanly when it reaches it.
Good to know
- Grant date is the date FMCSA's authority history records the authority as granted. In our tests on 2026-10-28, grants from that same day were already in the data.
- Best for recent grants. FMCSA's current authority-history file has about 5,000 to 6,200 grants per month since August 2026, but only about 1,000 to 1,800 per month for July 2025 to June 2026 (counts checked 2026-10-28). Older months look incomplete in that file, so use this tool for new entrants, not long historical lists. The 366-day maximum range reflects this.
- Insurance can lag the grant. A brand-new authority sometimes shows
bipd_on_file_usd: 0while a policy with a same-day effective date is already listed ininsurance_policies. - Some companies are sole proprietors, so the legal name can be a person's name. It's shown exactly as FMCSA publishes it. Use the data in line with your own legal and marketing obligations (for example CAN-SPAM, TCPA and state privacy laws).
- Source changes: if FMCSA's public open-data API ever requires an app token, the Actor stops with a clear message instead of signing up for anything.

FAQ
Is this an official FMCSA list? No. It's an independent tool built on FMCSA's public data. It is not affiliated with FMCSA or USDOT, and its output is not an official FMCSA determination.
Does it include phone numbers or emails? No, by design. You get the business name, business city/state, MC docket and a link to the company's FMCSA snapshot page.
How is this different from FMCSA Carrier Vetting? This tool finds new companies by grant date. Carrier Vetting checks companies you already have, by USDOT number. Use them together.
Is it legal to use this data? The datasets are published by FMCSA as public open data. Use the results in line with your own legal and compliance obligations.
