How the Officer & PSC Identity Scraper Works

1. Give it one or more names. Each name runs its own search against the officer index.
2. For every matching officer (up to your per-name cap), it opens that person's appointment history — every company, role, and date, resigned or current.
3. It cross-references one representative company to pull date of birth, nationality, country of residence, and PSC status for that officer.
4. Each appointment comes back as its own row, so an officer with six directorships gives you six rows — one per company, all carrying the same identity fields.

Every run emits a resumeCursor in its Output. If a large crawl stops before it finishes — because it hit maxItems, your spend cap (maxTotalChargeUsd), or was aborted — start a new run with the same input plus that resumeCursor to continue from where it left off. The crawl resumes from the queued work the previous run didn't reach.

Can I search multiple names in one run?

Yes. Pass an array of names and each one runs its own search, bounded by maxOfficersPerName so a common surname doesn't blow through your item budget.

Does this replace a company-lookup actor?

No. This is the inverse — name in, every company that person controls out. If you already have a company number and want its full officer list, a company-centric lookup is the better fit.

Why is date_of_birth_month sometimes empty?

Companies House only publishes birth month and year for officers where the register carries that detail on record, and never publishes the day. Corporate officers (a company acting as a director or secretary) have no date of birth at all.
