New Business Leads: Freshly Licensed Kansas City Businesses
Every business that just got its Kansas City, MO license: barbers, salons, restaurants and bars, contractors, cleaners, retailers and service firms. Reach them in their first weeks for about 2¢ each.
The Actor pulls from the City of Kansas City, Missouri's official business license records. It returns new licenses only, about 350 a month (around 200 with a Kansas City address). Renewals are filtered out four ways: renewal statuses, renewal dates, old contractor license numbers, and liquor or cigarette licenses that the same company already held. Event permits and taxi vehicle permits are skipped by default. Each lead includes the business and legal name, street address, license type and class, NAICS industry and the issue date.

FAQ
Where does the data come from? The City of Kansas City, MO "Business Licenses" dataset on the city's open-data portal. The city refreshes it daily. How are renewals excluded? The Actor skips records with a renewal date or a renewal status, contractor licenses first created in earlier years, and liquor, cigarette and similar licenses that the same company already held in the same class. (The city gives those a new number every year.) Does it include phone numbers or emails? The city doesn't publish them. Enrich with your usual tool. Other cities? Request yours in the Issues tab.
