Nova Scotia Co-operatives Registry
Every registered co-operative in Nova Scotia: name, registry ID, incorporation date, town, co-op type and non-profit status. Official open data; no addresses.
What it does
Returns every co-operative registered in Nova Scotia (~369) from the province's open data portal: registry ID, name, incorporation date, town, province, co-op type (housing, agriculture, worker, fish products, etc.) and whether it is non-profit or for-profit.
The Actor makes one request per run to the Socrata API on data.novascotia.ca.

Privacy
Personal data is reduced, not anonymous.
- Dropped:
addressandpostal_code. Many small co-ops use a member's home or PO box, so only the town and province are kept. Rural-route numbers (e.g.RR#3) are removed from the town. - A co-op name that looks like a person's name is blanked, with
nameWithheld: true. None did on the Oct 16, 2026 data (0 of 369).
Licence and terms
- Licence: Nova Scotia Open Government Licence, which allows copying, modifying and distributing the data, including for commercial purposes, with attribution. Every row carries the attribution.
- Automated access: data.novascotia.ca robots.txt allows the API with
Crawl-delay: 1; the Actor makes a single request. - Independent; not endorsed by the Province of Nova Scotia.
Pricing
Price: $0.003 per result, no start fee (pay per event, one result = one co-operative). The full list (~369 rows) costs about $1.11.
Limits
- The data is as current as the province's updates. The source column called
incorporation_yearholds a full date; both are returned.
