🧵 What it does

Give it a public tweet from an X (Twitter) thread. It looks for the root and connected replies from the original author, then returns the discovered posts in order. Results include available engagement counts, media, and Markdown you can use in Notion, Obsidian, or a blog post. Starting from a middle reply is supported within the lookup limits below; complete discovery is not guaranteed.

📋 How to use it

1. Paste your tweet links. Use the root or an accessible reply from the thread. Full URLs, share links, and plain tweet ID numbers are accepted (x.com, twitter.com, mobile.twitter.com, fxtwitter.com, vxtwitter.com).
2. Pick an output shape. "Nested" keeps each thread as one row with replies grouped inside. "Flat" gives you one row per tweet, great for spreadsheets.
3. Click Start and grab your results from the Output tab.

• $0.005 per thread unrolled ($5 for 1,000 threads)
• $0.002 per thread tweet with downloaded media, only if you turn on the media download add-on
• $0.001 per thread with quoted tweets, only if you turn on the quoted tweets add-on

Failed threads and unavailable posts incur no thread or unsuccessful add-on charge. The startup charge still applies when the run starts.

💡 Good to know

• Root or reply input. Root recovery follows at most 20 parent links. A deeper reply can fail to resolve; try the root URL or a reply closer to it.
• Same author only. A "thread" means the original author's own chain of posts. Replies from other people are not included.
• Markdown included. Markdown covers the returned thread posts at no additional charge.
• Long threads. The default output cap is 50 self-replies plus the root, configurable up to 500 replies. Raising it does not increase root-recovery or missing-parent lookup budgets. threadTruncated reports when discovered posts exceed your output cap; false does not prove every source post was discovered.
• Availability limits. Deleted or protected posts, temporary source failures, and gaps can prevent complete discovery. An unavailable root may cause the input post to be used as the effective root. Failed conversation lookups return an error status, not a verified complete thread.
• Media storage. Downloaded images and videos are saved in your Apify storage. How long they stay depends on your Apify plan.

❓ FAQ

Do I need a Twitter API key or a paid X account? No. Nothing to sign up for. Just paste and go.

What if the tweet I paste is not the first one in the thread? The tool attempts to recover the root, following up to 20 parent links, then discovers connected same-author replies. If lookup limits or unavailable posts prevent recovery, try the root URL. Complete discovery is not guaranteed.

Why did my thread come back as "not found"? The tweet may be deleted, from a suspended account, or from a private profile. You will see a status message. No thread charge applies to a failed lookup, but the startup charge still applies when the run starts.

Can I export the thread as a document? Yes. With Markdown output enabled, each successful thread includes Markdown for the returned posts, ready to paste into your notes, blog, or docs.

Why are there fewer replies than I expected? Only connected posts by the original author count as a "thread". Other users' replies are excluded. Your output cap, unavailable posts, discovery limits, or unresolved gaps can also reduce the result.
