Reddit Subreddit Finder — Discover Communities for Any Niche
Find every subreddit talking about your topic. Search multiple queries, get subscriber counts, active user numbers, and activity ratios — so you know which communities are worth targeting.
One run. Every relevant subreddit. Ranked by size, filtered for quality.
What It Does
Reddit has thousands of communities for every niche imaginable. Finding the right ones manually is tedious — Reddit's own search buries results and shows no useful metrics. This actor searches Reddit's subreddit API for your topics and returns structured data for every matching community: size, activity, description, and which of your queries found it.
Enter "AI tools", "productivity", "SaaS" and get back every subreddit that covers those topics — deduplicated, ranked by subscriber count, with an activity ratio showing you which communities are actually alive.
Key Features
- Multi-query search — enter multiple topics, each searched independently, results deduplicated across queries
- Activity ratio —
active users / subscribersas a percentage. Finds small-but-engaged communities that a raw subscriber sort would bury matchedQueriesfield — shows which of your search queries returned each subreddit (useful when a community covers multiple topics)- Subscriber filter — skip dead communities below a minimum threshold
- NSFW filter — exclude adult content by default

Reddit advertising Reddit ads target specific subreddits. Discover all communities relevant to your product before building your ad targeting list.
Content distribution
Find where to post your content for maximum reach. matchedQueries shows which communities cover multiple angles of your topic — those are your best bets.
Competitor research Search your competitor's brand name and product category to find where their users gather. Those subreddits are where your potential customers live.
Niche validation Searching for a new niche? Low subscriber counts mean limited audience. High activity ratios mean passionate communities. Use both to assess opportunity size.

Activity Ratio Explained
activityRatio = (weeklyActiveUsers / subscribers) × 100
A subreddit with 500,000 subscribers and 200 weekly active users has an activity ratio of 0.04% — effectively dead. One with 8,000 subscribers and 350 weekly active users has a ratio of 4.4% — a genuinely engaged community where your posts will actually be seen.
Use it to sort by engagement rather than raw size when you're looking for communities to participate in rather than just advertise to.
