Get a demoHello, if I try to find attractions and restaurants for a locationFullName = "cordoba" I get no results
I'm looking for Cordoba at Andalucia (Spain)
Hello, could you please share the specific run where this happened, so that we could look into it? I just attempted a scrape like you described, and it returned some results of restaurants and attractions just as expected: https://console.apify.com/view/runs/hoFaEycYC48Y72BRj
es, It return some values but in other cities, not in Córdoba capital
It's the same as if you were looking for 'New York' and see results of a city of 'New York State'
Córdoba is a province but also a CapitalCity
Aha, now I see. This is going to be a bit difficult - the search on Tripadvisor itself is quite unreliable, as you can see in the screenshot below - for search query "Cordoba, Spain", the top result is Cordoba in Argentina. Our scraper is just an API for Tripadvisor search, so if Tripadvisor provides inaccurate results, our scraper can't do any better. A solution for this is to find the correct destination yourself and then use the URL in the Start URLs
field, instead of using the Search
field. For example, for Cordoba, I used this link: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g187430-Cordoba_Province_of_Cordoba_Andalucia-Vacations.html which produced this Actor run, with results correctly located in the city of Cordoba, Spain.*
I hope this helps - we will try to look how to improve the search functionality, but I am afraid there will always be some false results.
Thanks for understanding.
Best regards
Matěj
*I noticed that there are only results for restaurants, but not for attractions ("Things to do"), that seems like a separate issue and I'm looking into it right now. Will update here when I solve this. (Update: I just realized this was caused by the Maximum Paid Items limit I had enabled, otherwise the scraper works fine.)
