Energy-Charts Scraper
Pulls quarter-hourly public electricity generation by source for European countries from the Fraunhofer ISE Energy-Charts API. No login, no proxy, no browser.
Input
| Field | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
country | string | Required. Country code, or all for Europe. Default de. |
date | string | Optional YYYY-MM-DD for a single day. Empty means today so far. |
skipEmptySources | boolean | Drop sources that reported nothing. Default true. |
Output
Long format — one row per timestamp and source: timestamp, unixSeconds,
source, megawatts, country.
Notes
- The API returns column format, not rows. One
unix_secondsarray and aproduction_typeslist where each entry has its owndataarray aligned to the same index. This Actor joins by index into one row per reading, so a source whose series is shorter yieldsnullreadings rather than silently shifting later values onto the wrong timestamps. dateis optional on purpose. Left empty the API returns the current day so far, which is what the daily run wants; a hardcoded default date would go stale the day after it was written.- Some sources are legitimately negative — pumped storage consumption and cross-border trading both go below zero — so "has data" means non-zero, not positive.
- An unsupported country code returns HTTP 400 with a plain-text explanation, which is surfaced in the error.
