Scrape the USPTO Trademark Official Gazette: marks, owners, classes, status and weekly changes. Run it once and you get the current records as a dataset — that is the default. Turn on watch mode and a scheduled run returns only what changed since the last run (see Optional: run it on a schedule).

Output is one gazette_record row per result; billing is pay-per-event, the value event being one confirmed gazette event delta (a $0.02 start fee per run, then $0.08 per confirmed gazette event delta). Source: tm-eog-service.uspto.gov, tmog.uspto.gov, www.uspto.gov.

No login, no API key and no CAPTCHA solving are involved: the source is read logged-out.

What each record contains

gazette_record — a current-issue snapshot record (when watchMode = false): the mark, owner, status, Nice classes, event type, and issue date as printed in the Gazette.
trademark_delta — a confirmed new Gazette event on a watched mark (watch mode). delta_type is the event type (or CORRECTED_ENTRY); carries before / after, changed_fields, and an office-scoped composite_id (USPTO:SN… / USPTO:RN…).
source_receipt — stored outside the paid dataset in the RUN_RECEIPT key-value record, never billed: terminal state, issues processed, API records checked, byte/request counters, and any backlog.

Every run also writes a RUN_RECEIPT record to its key-value store with the source checks it made and the counts it charged — diagnostics never land in the paid dataset.

Terminal states. A run ends NORMAL, CAPPED (your cap was reached), PARTIAL (something was withheld and the message says what), GENUINE_EMPTY (the source was read and truly had nothing in scope) or BLOCKED (the source refused or changed shape — the run FAILS loud and bills nothing). A zero-row run is never reported as a silent success.

Charging. Each confirmed gazette event delta is charged at the moment it is pushed (trademark_delta); a row that fails to charge is not delivered, so the dataset count always equals the charged count.

Two modes:

Snapshot (watchMode: false, the runtime and form default): returns the current Gazette issue's matching records right away as gazette_record rows. Omitting watchMode also selects snapshot, so {} does not silently seed an empty watch. Billed one gazette_issue_check for the issue processed — the snapshot records themselves are not billed per-record. Use it to see the data now.
Watch (watchMode: true): the first run seeds a private baseline and emits zero deltas (it establishes what already exists so it does not alert you to history). Later Tuesday issues produce only new matching events as trademark_delta — this is the change feed. maxCatchupIssues (1–3) bounds how much backlog each run processes.

Only an explicitly requested watch run seeds rather than alerting; point that watch at a weekly schedule and the deltas start with the next issue.

Source, scope and limits

Public / logged-out official USPTO TMOG search service only; robots honoured; no login, API key, CAPTCHA or paywall defeating. The Actor walks every result page in your requested filter scope before calling an issue complete, while returning only your requested maxItems. owner_name preserves USPTO's public current-owner display text, which can include an address; owner_address remains null on this source path. Identity is office + serial/registration number, using official publication reasons only — legal outcomes are never inferred. This is not TSDR live status, legal docketing, clearance, ownership verification, or legal advice. The Gazette is weekly and event-oriented — absence proves nothing. Design-only marks may have null mark text. Catch-up is capped at 3 issues/run. Blocks, incomplete pagination and shape drift fail loud, never as a clean empty.

Q: Do I need an API key or a login?
A: No. The source (tm-eog-service.uspto.gov, tmog.uspto.gov, www.uspto.gov) is read logged-out; the input schema has no key field and the actor carries no secrets.

Q: Why did my run return 0 rows?
A: Read the run's status message. GENUINE_EMPTY means the source was read and had nothing in scope for your input (in watch mode the first run always seeds the baseline and returns zero deltas); BLOCKED means the source refused and the run failed without billing a value event — retry later or narrow the input. A zero-row run bills the start fee only.

Q: How many rows can one run return?

🆘 Troubleshooting

Run FAILED with BLOCKED → the source refused the request or changed its page shape → nothing was billed beyond the start fee; retry after a while, and if it persists open an Issue with the run id.
Status says CAPPED → your cap (maxItems) was reached → raise it for a bigger run.
Input validation error on start → a field is outside the schema's allowed values → start from the Quick start block and change one field at a time.
Run TIMED-OUT → a very wide request on a slow day → raise the run timeout in Run options or narrow the input; what was delivered before the timeout is still in the dataset.
