Google News Scraper: Articles by Keyword, Topic or Country

$1 per 1,000 articles. Platform usage included. No rental, no minimum.

The four most used Google News actors on Apify Store charge $2.00 to $5.00 per 1,000 articles, and one or more add platform usage on top (Store prices checked 5 October 2026). This actor returns the same kind of data for $1.

Open it in Apify Console

New to Apify? [Create a free account](https://www.apify.com?fpr=ymnoit) (referral link). Runs from a free plan account return the first 10 results; any paid plan returns everything you ask for, up to your limit.

What it costs

ArticlesThis actorMost used Google News actors on the Store
1,000$1.00$2.00 to $5.00
10,000$10.00$20 to $50
100,000$100.00$200 to $500

Plus $0.001 per run. A daily run of 300 articles costs about $0.30, or about $9 a month. You pay only for articles delivered; set maxItems to cap a run.

Why people switch

  • One flat price. Compute and proxy are included, so the bill follows the number of articles and nothing else.
  • More than 100 articles per search. A Google News feed stops near 100 articles. This actor reads one date range after another, so a single search can return hundreds.
  • 67 country and language editions, Google News search operators, topic sections, top stories and local news for a place.
  • Clean rows. Repeats inside a search, topic or place are removed before you are charged.

Quick start

  1. Open the actor, type a search term, press Start.
  2. Or paste this input:
{ "queries": ["electric vehicles"], "edition": "US:en", "timeRange": "7d", "maxItems": 200 }
  1. Download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.

Use it from code

curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/one_dollar_store~google-news-articles-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"queries": ["electric vehicles"], "maxItems": 100}'
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("one_dollar_store/google-news-articles-scraper").call(
run_input={"queries": ["electric vehicles"], "maxItems": 100}
)
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
print(item["publishedAt"], item["source"], item["title"])

Use it from an AI assistant

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants can call this actor through Apify's MCP server. Add it with this server address:

https://mcp.apify.com?tools=one_dollar_store/google-news-articles-scraper

Then ask, for example: "Get today's 50 latest technology headlines from Google News UK."

Switching from another Google News actor

Most Google News actors take a search term and a result limit. Here they are queries (a list, so one run can cover many searches) and maxItems. The core fields are title, source, publishedAt and googleNewsUrl.

Limits

  • One Google News feed holds about 100 articles. For bigger searches the actor reads date ranges one at a time, so very busy topics give at most about 100 articles per day.
  • Topic, top stories and place feeds return what Google News lists there at that moment, usually 30 to 100 articles, and do not take dates.
  • The link is the Google News link, which takes a browser to the publisher. The actor does not open publisher sites or return full article text.
  • An article that matches two of your searches is returned once for each search.

FAQ

What is the cheapest Google News scraper on Apify? This actor costs $1 per 1,000 articles with platform usage included. The four most used Google News actors on the Store charged $2.00 to $5.00 per 1,000 when we checked on 5 October 2026.

How much does it cost to scrape 10,000 Google News articles? $10, plus $0.001 for each run.

Do I pay for compute or proxy on top? No. Platform usage, including the residential proxy, is included in the $1 per 1,000 price.

Where does the data come from? From the public RSS feeds that Google News publishes for searches, topics and places. The actor reads those feeds as a feed reader would, at a modest pace. No Google account is used.

Is it legal? The actor reads public data only, with no login. Headlines and links are facts that Google News shows to every visitor. How you use them is up to you: follow Google's terms, the publishers' rights and the law where you live. Do not republish full articles you do not have rights to.

Is this an official Google product? No. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

How do I monitor a topic every day? Schedule a run with timeRange set to 1d, and use articleId to drop articles you already have.

Can I get older news? Yes, with dateFrom and dateTo, as far back as Google News still lists.

Why is a place empty? Google News has local feeds for many cities and regions, but not for every name. The log says when a place has no feed; try the larger city or the region.

Do I need an Apify account? Yes. Actors run from an Apify account, and a free account is enough to start: it includes $5 of platform usage every month. You can sign up here. This is a referral link and it costs you nothing.

Is there a limit on the free plan? Yes. A run started from a free plan account delivers the first 10 results, then ends with a message and a link to the plans. Any paid plan returns everything you ask for, up to your own limit. The price per result is the same on every plan.
