Crunchbase Funding Scraper
Scrape Crunchbase funding rounds from any company, investor, or funding-rounds listing, up to 100 per run. Each round comes with its announced date, money raised, lead investors, and round type. No login or API key. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.
Crunchbase's official API needs a paid plan and rate limits you. This reads the public funding-round pages directly, starting from any Crunchbase URL you give it, and returns each round in one fixed schema. Filter by maximum number of rounds and let the proxy handle the rest.
| Who uses it | What they scrape Crunchbase for |
|---|---|
| Market researchers | Which startups in a sector are getting funded this quarter |
| Investors | Who is leading rounds in their target stage and geography |
| Sales teams | Which companies raised money and might be ready to buy |
| Journalists | Tracking funding announcements for a beat |
What it does
This Actor collects Crunchbase funding rounds from a starting URL and returns each one as a flat row.
- ๐ Start from any URL: point it at a company page, an investor page, or a funding-rounds listing.
- ๐ Flat row per round: each result is one funding round with its key attributes.
- ๐ก๏ธ Proxy built in: uses Apify Proxy to avoid blocks and keep the run going.
- โ๏ธ Max items control: cap the number of rounds so you only pay for what you need.
Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.

Use with AI agents (MCP)
Give an AI agent live access to Crunchbase through the Model Context Protocol. Add the Actor to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client:
$claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=parseforge/crunchbase-funding-scraper"
Then prompt it in plain language to run the scraper and read back the results.
Troubleshooting
Why am I getting no results?
Check that your start URL is a public Crunchbase page that lists funding rounds. If the page requires login or is behind a paywall, the Actor cannot scrape it. Also verify that maxItems is set to a number greater than zero.
Why is the run slow?
Crunchbase can be slow to load, and the Actor waits for content to appear. Try reducing maxItems or using a faster proxy group in the proxy configuration.
Why did I get blocked?
The default Apify Proxy should avoid most blocks, but if you see errors, try a different proxy group or add a longer delay between requests. You can also retry the run later.
Why are some fields empty?
Not every funding round has the same data. If a field is missing on the page, it will be empty in the output. Check the sample record to see which fields are typically populated.
Can I scrape more than 100 rounds?
Yes, increase the maxItems input. Be aware that larger runs take longer and may hit rate limits, so monitor the run and adjust the proxy settings if needed.
