The ImportYeti Scraper queries the ImportYeti supplier and company directory and returns a clean record per match with 50+ fields, including company name, address, total shipments, most recent shipment, top suppliers and customers, HS codes, estimated shipping spend, and a full shipment history with bill-of-lading identifiers. ImportYeti aggregates US Customs (CBP) Automated Manifest System data, which is public by law, and layers a searchable interface on top.

For US-bound ocean freight, every inbound container triggers a manifest record that names the shipper, consignee, product description, HS code, and vessel. This Actor turns those records into structured JSON you can load into a CRM, a procurement pipeline, or a competitor-tracking dashboard.

🎯 Target Audience💡 Primary Use Cases
Sourcing teams, procurement analysts, private equity, sales ops, market researchers, freight forwarders, brokers, trade complianceSupplier discovery, competitor shipment tracking, HS-code trade flow analysis, lead enrichment, due diligence, route pricing

📋 What the ImportYeti Scraper does

Five search workflows in a single run:

  • 🔍 Keyword search. Query by product (e.g., aluminum, sneakers, lithium battery) or by company name.
  • 🏭 Type filter. Restrict to supplier (overseas factories) or company (US importers).
  • 📍 Location filter. Narrow to a US state, city, or country slug such as california or new-york.
  • 📅 Recency filter. Only active traders shipped within the last 6mo, 1y, or 2y.
  • 📦 Volume filter. Minimum total shipments to focus on high-volume counterparties.

Each record bundles search-page snapshot data with a detail-page enrichment pass: HS code breakdown, linked partners, estimated spend, coverage percentage, trade-name aliases, and shipment-level bills of lading.

💡 Why it matters: bill-of-lading data is the ground truth for who is actually shipping what, to whom, and how often. Sourcing teams use it to find alternative suppliers when an incumbent fails. Sales teams use it to qualify inbound importers. PE funds use it to track revenue proxies on private portfolio companies.

⚠️ Good to Know: ImportYeti derives its data from public US Customs manifest filings. Coverage is strongest for ocean freight inbound to US ports. Air and truck freight are not fully represented. Shipper names and addresses appear as filed on the bill of lading, so minor spelling or romanization variants are normal.
