Michelin Guide Restaurants Scraper
Scrape Michelin Guide restaurant listings for any city or region, up to a million per run. Every restaurant comes with its star rating, cuisine type, price range, address, and distinctions. No API key required. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.
The Michelin Guide website offers no public API, making it difficult to collect structured data on starred restaurants at scale. This Actor reads the public restaurant listings directly, filtering by city and minimum star rating, and returns each match in a consistent, flat schema.\n\nIt is built for chefs, food critics, travel planners, and data analysts who need clean, exportable Michelin data without manual copying.
| Who uses it | What they scrape Michelin Guide for |
|---|---|
| Travel planners | Building a curated list of fine-dining options for a specific destination. |
| Food critics and journalists | Tracking new star awards and Bib Gourmand distinctions across a region. |
| Data analysts | Analyzing the distribution of cuisine types and price ranges in a city's starred restaurants. |
| Hospitality recruiters | Generating a lead list of top-rated restaurants for talent sourcing. |
What it does
This Actor collects Michelin Guide restaurant listings by city or region slug and returns each one as a flat row with its star rating, cuisine, price, and location.
- ๐ City and region targeting: Provide a slug like 'paris', 'london', or 'hong-kong-region' to scrape all restaurants in that area.
- โญ Star rating filter: Set a minimum star level from 0 (no filter) to 3 to collect only restaurants with that distinction.
- ๐ข Flexible volume control: Set a maximum number of restaurants to collect, from a single sample up to a million per run.
Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.

Troubleshooting
Why am I getting no results?
Check that your city or region slug is spelled correctly and matches the format on guide.michelin.com. Slugs are case-sensitive and use hyphens, not spaces. Also, ensure your minimum star filter is not set higher than any restaurant in that city has achieved.
The Actor is returning fewer results than expected.
The Michelin Guide website may paginate results. Ensure your 'Maximum restaurants' input is set high enough to capture all pages. If the number of restaurants in the city is less than your max, the Actor will stop when it has collected all available listings.
I received an error about an invalid slug.
Visit guide.michelin.com, navigate to your desired city, and copy the last part of the URL path. For example, 'san-francisco' from '.../us/en/san-francisco/restaurants'. Do not include the country code or 'restaurants' part.
The run timed out.
If you are scraping a very large city with a high maximum items count, the run may hit the default timeout. Increase the run timeout in the Actor's advanced settings or reduce the 'Maximum restaurants' value.
The data is missing a specific field like phone number or website.
The Actor scrapes the data available on the public listing pages. If a restaurant has not provided its phone number or website to the Michelin Guide, that field will be empty in your results.
FAQ
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What is a city or region slug and where do I find it? | A slug is the text in the URL after the country on guide.michelin.com. For example, the URL for Paris is '.../fr/en/paris/restaurants', so the slug is 'paris'. For a region like Hong Kong, it is 'hong-kong-region'. |
| Can I scrape multiple cities in one run? | No, the Actor is designed to scrape one city or region slug per run. To scrape multiple cities, run the Actor multiple times with different city inputs. |
| Does this scraper collect the Green Star for sustainability? | Yes, the Actor collects all distinctions displayed on the listing, which includes the Green Star if it is present on the restaurant's page. |
| What data fields are included in the output? | The output includes the restaurant name, star rating, cuisine type, price range, address, and any distinctions like Bib Gourmand or Green Star. The exact fields are shown in a sample output on the Actor's page. |
| Is it possible to filter by cuisine type? | The input schema does not have a direct cuisine filter. The Actor collects all restaurants for the given city and star rating. You can filter by cuisine after the run by processing the exported dataset. |
| How do I get only Bib Gourmand restaurants? | Set the minimum stars filter to 0 to collect all restaurants, then filter the resulting dataset for rows where the distinction field contains 'Bib Gourmand'. |
| Can I scrape restaurants without a star rating? | Yes, setting the 'Minimum stars' input to 0 will return all restaurants in the selected city, including those with no star, a Bib Gourmand, or a Plate distinction. |
| What is the maximum number of restaurants I can scrape? | You can set the 'Maximum restaurants' input up to 1,000,000 per run, which is more than the total number of restaurants in the entire Michelin Guide. |
| Does this Actor require a login or an API key? | No. It reads the public Michelin Guide website directly, so no login, API key, or registration is needed. |
| In what formats can I export the data? | You can export your dataset in CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML formats directly from the Apify platform. |
