π New Jersey Business Registry Scraper
π Export New Jersey business entities in seconds. Name, entity ID, entity type, incorporation date and city for businesses in the New Jersey state business records search, with no account and no API key.
The State of New Jersey Division of Revenue publishes a Business Records name search. This Actor runs that search and returns one flat row per entity: name, entity ID, city, entity type and incorporation date.
The list this registry returns is thin. It does not show status, street address, registered agent or officers, and the Actor does not invent them.
| π― Target Audience | π‘ Primary Use Cases |
|---|---|
| Sales and lead generation teams | Build a list of New Jersey company names with entity type and city |
| Data teams | Check that a New Jersey company name exists and get its entity ID |
| Lawyers and paralegals | Find the entity ID needed for a deeper lookup |
| Researchers | Count entities by type and incorporation date |
π What the New Jersey Business Registry Scraper does
π‘ Why it matters: a quick, bulk-friendly way to confirm that a New Jersey business name exists and to get its entity ID and type.
- Searches the New Jersey Business Records name search.
- Search by entity name.
- Returns entity name, entity ID, entity type, incorporation date and city.
- Writes an unbilled error row when the registry refuses or finds nothing.

π Output
Every row is one New Jersey business entity. The New Jersey list does not publish status, street address, registered agent or officers, so the output has no such columns.
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
π’ corporateName | string | Legal name of the entity as the registry prints it |
π§Ύ corporationType | string | Entity type, for example corporation or LLC |
π’ documentNumber | string | New Jersey entity ID |
π
dateFiled | string | Incorporation date as printed by the registry |
π¬ principalAddress | object | City listed in the search results; the street is not published in the list |
π scrapedAt | string | ISO 8601 timestamp of the extraction |
β error | string | Error message on a failed row, null on a real record |

β Frequently Asked Questions
π Which searches does it support?
Entity name only.
π Which registry does it read?
The New Jersey Division of Revenue Business Records search.
π« Why is there no status or address?
The search list does not publish them, so they are not returned.
π What date format is used?
The registry format, kept as printed.
π Do I need an account or API key for the registry?
No. The Actor reads the public New Jersey registry. There is nothing to sign up for and no key to paste.
π§Ύ Is this personal data?
The Actor returns business entity records as the registry publishes them: legal name, ID, status, addresses of the business and its registered agent. It does not look anyone up elsewhere and adds nothing to what the registry prints. Use the data in line with the privacy and marketing laws that apply to you.
π¦ How many records can I export?
As many as the registry returns for the search, up to 1,000,000 on a paid plan. Free accounts are limited to 10 records per run.
π Can the same entity appear twice?
Not within one run for searches that list entities. Rows are deduplicated on the registry identifier where the registry lists several rows per entity.
π Do I need a proxy?
The default is Apify Proxy with a United States exit, which is enough in most cases. If the registry refuses it, the Actor retries from a residential US exit on its own.
π What happens when the registry does not answer?
The Actor writes one error row that says what went wrong and does not charge for it. A run that finds nothing says so on a row instead of finishing silently empty.
π° What am I charged for?
One result per business record delivered. Error rows and empty searches are not charged. The price per result is on the Pricing tab of the Actor page.
π€ Which formats can I export?
CSV, Excel, JSON and XML from the Storage tab, or through the Apify API.
π Integrate with any app
Every run writes to an Apify dataset you can read over the REST API, stream into a webhook, or export as CSV, Excel, JSON or XML. Apify's integrations cover Make, Zapier, Airbyte, Slack, Google Drive, GitHub, Google Sheets and plain HTTP webhooks, so the rows land wherever your team already works.
