Open Trivia DB Quiz Questions Scraper
Scrape trivia questions from any Open Trivia DB category, difficulty, or type, up to a million per run. Every question comes with its correct answer, wrong answers, and category metadata. No API key or registration. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.
Open Trivia DB's own API rate-limits you and returns only 50 questions per call. This Actor reads the public question pool directly, filtered by category, difficulty, and question type, and returns each match in one fixed schema. Build a quiz bank, train a model, or seed a game without writing a single loop.

Troubleshooting
Why am I getting fewer questions than my maxItems setting?
The public pool has a finite number of questions per category and difficulty combination. If your filters are too narrow, the Actor returns all available matches and stops. Broaden your filters or lower maxItems.
Why are some questions duplicated?
Open Trivia DB may return the same question across multiple API calls when the pool is small relative to your request. Increase the category or difficulty range to reduce repeats.
The run failed with a timeout error.
Large requests can take time. Increase the Actor's timeout in the run settings, or reduce maxItems and run multiple smaller batches.
I see HTML entities like " in the question text.
The raw data includes encoded characters. Use a post-processing step in your code or a spreadsheet find-and-replace to decode them.
Can I filter by a specific keyword in the question?
The Actor does not support keyword search. Pull a broad set and filter the exported dataset locally by the question text column.
