PetFlow Product Scraper

Scrape PetFlow product data from any category, brand or search page, up to the full catalog of about 4,000 products in one run. Get names, price ranges, brands, variant SKUs, ratings, reviews and pet attributes in one flat row per product. No login or API key. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.

PetFlow has no public API, so building a feed of pet food, treats, or supplies means copying product data by hand. This Actor opens the PetFlow page you give it, reads the same product search the storefront uses, collects every product that page lists (not only the first screen), and returns each one as a clean row you can load into a spreadsheet or database.

Who uses itWhat they scrape PetFlow for
Pet product retailersMonitor competitor pricing and assortment on PetFlow

What it does

This Actor collects PetFlow products from a category or search URL and returns each product as one flat row with its name, price range, brand, variants, rating and pet attributes.

  • 🔗 Category, brand or search input: point the Actor at any PetFlow category, brand or search URL and it collects every product that page lists.
  • ↕️ Storefront sorting: relevance, price low to high, price high to low, newest or top rated.
  • 🏷️ Rich rows: price range, parent and variant SKUs, rating, review count, views, category path, lifestage, breed size, main ingredient, special conditions, free-from allergens, badges and promo text.
  • 🔢 Item cap: set a maximum number of products per run so a broad category does not run away from you.
  • 📦 Flat rows: every product comes back as one row, ready for CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML export.

Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.

What you can do with PetFlow data

📈 Track competitor prices.

A pet supply retailer runs the Actor on PetFlow's dog food category every morning and compares the returned prices against their own store to stay competitive.

🧪 Research brand assortment.

A market analyst scrapes PetFlow search results for a specific brand to see which formulas and sizes are currently listed, with their ratings and review counts.

🛒 Feed a price comparison site.

A developer schedules the Actor on several PetFlow categories and pipes the flat product rows into a comparison database for shoppers.

📦 Source dropshipping products.

A dropshipper scrapes a PetFlow category, filters the rows by rating and lifestage, and imports the product details into their own storefront.

How it compares

No other Store actor targets PetFlow the same way, so the honest comparison is with the alternatives teams actually weigh.

Configure the run

Drive the Actor from a single PetFlow category, brand or search URL, pick a sort order, and set a maximum product count to keep the run bounded. PetFlow only lets US residential traffic through, and that is the default proxy. The Input tab lists every parameter.

A first run with the defaults:

{
"startUrl": "https://www.petflow.com/shop/dog/food/",
"maxItems": 10
}

A larger pull:

{
"startUrl": "https://www.petflow.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=treats",
"maxItems": 200,
"sortBy": "price_asc"
}

  1. Create a free Apify account with $5 in credit.
  2. Open the PetFlow Product Scraper.
  3. Set your inputs and any filters, then click Start.
  4. Export the results as CSV, Excel, JSON, or XML from the Dataset tab.

Run it programmatically through the Apify API (run-sync-get-dataset-items) or the ApifyClient for JavaScript and Python.

Use with AI agents (MCP)

Give an AI agent live access to PetFlow through the Model Context Protocol. Add the Actor to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client:

$claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=parseforge/petflow-scraper"

Then prompt it in plain language to run the scraper and read back the results.

Troubleshooting

Why am I getting no results?

Check that the startUrl points to a PetFlow category, brand or search page and that products are visible when you open it in a private browser window. If you changed the proxy, switch back to the default US residential proxy: PetFlow blocks datacenter and non-US traffic.

Why did the run stop before reaching maxItems?

The Actor stops when the page has no more products. If the category has fewer products than your maxItems, the run finishes with fewer items. The whole PetFlow catalog is about 4,000 products.

Why are some product fields empty?

PetFlow does not set every attribute on every product (for example, main ingredient or breed size on toys). Empty fields mean PetFlow has no value for that product.

Why did the run fail with a timeout?

The full catalog takes about a minute once the page opens. If PetFlow's security check is slow, the run keeps trying new US exits until shortly before the timeout and then delivers what it has. Run it again, or give it a longer timeout.

FAQ

QuestionAnswer
What can I scrape with this Actor?Any PetFlow category, brand or search page. Paste the URL into the startUrl field and the Actor collects every product listed on that page, up to your maxItems limit.
Do I need a PetFlow account or API key?No. The Actor reads the public PetFlow pages directly, so there is no login, app registration, or API key required.
What data comes back for each product?Each product is returned as a flat row with name, price range, brand, parent and variant SKUs, rating, reviews and pet attributes. The Output section above lists every field.
Can I scrape multiple categories in one run?The Actor takes one start URL per run. To scrape multiple categories, run the Actor once per URL, or use Apify's scheduler to run several URLs on a schedule.
How many products can I collect?Everything the page lists, up to the whole PetFlow catalog (about 4,000 products). maxItems stops the run earlier.
What export formats are supported?You can export the results to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML directly from the Apify dataset.
Does the Actor handle pagination?Yes. It collects every product the page lists, not only the first screen, until it reaches your maxItems limit or the end of the listing.
Can I schedule this Actor to run automatically?Yes, you can schedule it to run daily, hourly, or on any custom interval from the Apify console.
