🔍 How does keyword search work without an account?

RedNote runs a search page for partner phone browsers (Xiaomi, OPPO, Honor) that answers logged out. The Actor uses that page. RedNote's desktop web search still asks for a login.

📏 How many results does one keyword return?

RedNote serves 50 pages of 20 per keyword. Some notes repeat across pages, so expect about 500 to 600 unique notes. Add more keywords for more rows.

↕️ Can I sort by newest or most liked?

No. The partner search ignores sort and type settings and returns its own relevance order. Use the filters (minimum likes, published after, note type) to narrow results, and sort the dataset afterwards.

🧑‍🎤 What is Creators mode?

With Search returns set to Creators, each keyword gives one profile row per unique author instead of one row per note. It is the quickest way to build an influencer list for a topic.

👤 Which profile links can I paste?

🗂 Do I get a creator's whole post history?

No. The public profile page shows 6 to 8 pinned and recent notes, and those are what recentNotes holds. The page gives those notes no link, so they have no URL. The full history loads through a signed request that needs an account.

📝 Why is the note text sometimes cut short?

🔗 Why doesn't a note link open when I'm logged out?

RedNote only opens a note page for logged-out visitors when the link carries the note's own access token, and search results come without one. The link opens in the RedNote app and for logged-in visitors.

🔢 What are the ...Text fields for?

RedNote shortens large numbers (125.9万 means 1,259,000). The number fields hold the exact value and the Text fields hold what RedNote shows, so a report can match a screenshot.

🌐 What is ipLocation?

The province or country RedNote shows on every profile, based on the account's recent IP address. It is different from location, which the creator sets. Because it tracks where a person is, it is opt-in: turn on Include gender, age, college and IP location to receive it.

🔒 Why do some fields say Not Requested or [removed]?

Gender, age, college and IP location are personal data, so they are only filled when you switch on Include gender, age, college and IP location and have a lawful reason to process them. Emails, phone numbers and QQ/WeChat handles found in bios, titles and note text are always replaced by [removed]. The Actor never delivers contact details.

🛡️ Do I need a proxy?

The Apify datacenter proxy is on by default. Every retry then leaves from a new address, which clears RedNote's occasional captcha on profile pages. Residential also works but is not needed.

❌ What happens when something fails?

The Actor retries from a new address, then writes a row with only an error message (for example a deleted profile). Error rows are never charged.
