StockAnalysis Scraper

Scrape stock data from StockAnalysis.com for any ticker or the full screener, up to a million rows per run. Every stock comes with price, market cap, P/E ratio, volume, sector, and more. No API key. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.

StockAnalysis.com has clean, current stock data, but there is no official API and manual export is slow. This Actor reads the public pages directly, either for a list of tickers you choose or across the whole screener with filters, and returns each stock as one flat row. It works for US tickers like AAPL and MSFT, and for non-US tickers using exchange prefixes like LON:HSBA or TSX:RY.

Who uses itWhat they scrape StockAnalysis.com for
Market researchersWhich stocks in a sector meet a market cap threshold this week
Quantitative analystsA clean dataset of fundamentals for backtesting a strategy
Financial journalistsQuick price and valuation snapshots for a list of companies
Portfolio managersDaily updates on a watchlist of tickers across exchanges
Data engineersA scheduled feed of stock data into a warehouse or dashboard

What it does

This Actor collects stock data from StockAnalysis.com by ticker or screener filters, and returns each stock as a flat row with price, market cap, P/E ratio, volume, sector, and other fields.

  • ๐ŸŽฏ Ticker mode: pass a list of symbols like AAPL, MSFT, or LON:HSBA and get one row per stock.
  • ๐Ÿ” Screener mode: browse all stocks on StockAnalysis.com and filter by sector, market cap min, and market cap max.
  • ๐ŸŒ Global coverage: US tickers use the symbol alone, non-US tickers use EXCHANGE:TICKER format.
  • ๐Ÿ“Š Flat output: every stock is one row with consistent fields, ready for CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.
  • โšก No API key: the Actor reads public pages directly, so there is no registration or rate limit to manage.

Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.

What you can do with StockAnalysis.com data

๐Ÿ“ˆ Build a sector watchlist.

A market researcher runs screener mode with sector=technology and marketCapMin=1000000000 to get every large-cap tech stock, then exports the CSV for a weekly report.

๐Ÿงช Backtest a fundamental strategy.

A quant passes a list of 500 tickers and uses the P/E ratio and market cap fields to filter for value stocks before running a backtest.

๐Ÿ“ฐ Fact-check a story.

A journalist enters the tickers mentioned in a draft article and gets current price and volume to verify the numbers before publishing.

๐Ÿ’ผ Monitor a portfolio.

A portfolio manager schedules a daily run for 50 tickers across US and European exchanges and pushes the JSON into a dashboard.

๐Ÿ—„๏ธ Feed a data warehouse.

A data engineer runs screener mode once a week for all stocks, then loads the CSV into Snowflake for internal analytics.

Troubleshooting

Why am I getting no results?

Check that your tickers are in the correct format. US tickers use the symbol alone, non-US tickers need EXCHANGE:TICKER. In screener mode, make sure your filters are not too restrictive.

Why did my run stop after 10 items?

Free users are limited to 10 items as a preview. Upgrade to a paid plan to increase maxItems up to 1,000,000.

Why is my non-US ticker not returning data?

Verify the exchange prefix. For example, use LON:HSBA for London, not HSBA. Check StockAnalysis.com for the exact symbol format.

Why are some fields empty in the output?

StockAnalysis.com may not have data for every field for every stock. Empty fields mean the source page did not show a value.

Why did the run fail with a timeout?

Large screener runs can take time. Try reducing maxItems or narrowing filters. If the problem persists, contact support.

FAQ

QuestionAnswer
Do I need an API key for StockAnalysis.com?No. The Actor reads the public pages directly, so there is no registration, OAuth, or key to manage.
Can I scrape non-US stocks?Yes. Use the EXCHANGE:TICKER format, for example LON:HSBA for the London Stock Exchange or TSX:RY for Toronto.
What is the difference between ticker mode and screener mode?Ticker mode takes a list of symbols you provide. Screener mode browses all stocks on StockAnalysis.com and applies optional filters like sector and market cap.
How many stocks can I scrape in one run?Free users are limited to 10 items as a preview. Paid users can set maxItems up to 1,000,000.
What filters are available in screener mode? You can filter by sector (11 options like technology or healthcare) and by market cap minimum and maximum in USD.
What output formats are supported? The dataset can be exported to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML from the Apify platform.
Does the Actor return historical data? No, it returns the current data shown on StockAnalysis.com at the time of the run. For historical data, schedule regular runs and store the results.
Can I run this on a schedule?Yes, you can schedule the Actor to run daily, weekly, or at any interval from the Apify console.
Is the data real-time?The data reflects what StockAnalysis.com displays, which is typically delayed by up to 15 minutes for US markets. It is not a real-time feed.
What if a ticker is not found? The Actor will skip that ticker and continue with the rest. Check the run log for any skipped symbols.
