This NPPES scraper searches the official US NPI Registry for doctors, nurse practitioners, clinics, hospitals, pharmacies and every other healthcare provider that has a National Provider Identifier. Search by name, specialty, city, state or ZIP code and get one row per provider with the NPI number, credentials, primary specialty, practice address, phone number and status.

How to scrape the NPI Registry

1. Enter at least one search field: state, city, ZIP code, first or last name, organization name or specialty.
2. Optionally choose Provider Type to see only individuals or only organizations.
3. Set Max Items.
4. Click Start and export the dataset as CSV, Excel or from the Apify console.

Names accept a trailing wildcard, for example Smi* or Cedars*.

You pay per result: $22 per 1,000 providers plus a tiny start fee. The free plan returns up to 10 providers per run. Large searches are read in pages of 200, so long lists are quick.

Tips for better results

• A search by specialty matches any specialty on the provider's record, not only the primary one. Check primarySpecialty if you need an exact fit.
• Combine a specialty with a state or city. A specialty alone can match a very large number of providers.
• Use trailing wildcards for names when you are unsure of the spelling.

Is the data official? Yes. It comes from the NPI Registry maintained by CMS.

Does it include email addresses? No. The registry does not publish email addresses.

How often does the registry change? Providers register and update their records continuously, so schedule the Actor monthly if you keep a lead list and want to catch new practices and changed phone numbers.

Can I search only by state? Yes, but very large states return a lot of providers. Add a specialty or city to narrow the search.
