UK CQC Care Provider Leads Scraper — Care Homes, Home Care, GPs, Dentists & Hospitals

Export every care provider regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in England as a clean, contactable B2B lead. Care homes (with and without nursing), home-care / domiciliary agencies, supported living, GP and dental practices, hospitals, hospices, ambulance and clinic services — each with phone, website, the named registered manager, care-home bed count, the latest CQC rating, full operating-company details (with Companies House & charity numbers), geo coordinates and a 0–100 lead score.

No login, no API key, no browser — this actor reads the official CQC open-data files directly and ships the richest care-sector dataset on Apify. Filter by region, council, service type, specialism or CQC rating, and turn on monitor mode to pull only new registrations, rating changes and closures.

Why this CQC scraper?

The CQC API needs a registered subscription key and returns a thin per-record view; generic crawlers grab a handful of fields. This actor unifies CQC's full bulk dataset into one dense lead record — including the data that actually drives outreach: the named manager, bed count, CQC rating (a powerful buying trigger), and the provider company with its Companies House number.

Use cases

  • Sell to the care sector — care-home software & EPOS, e-rostering, recruitment & training, PPE, catering, medical supplies, pharmacy, laundry, telecoms and insurance vendors get a clean, segmented list of every home, agency and practice with a phone and a named manager.
  • Compliance, training & consultancy — filter to Requires improvement and Inadequate locations: these providers are actively looking for help to pass their next inspection.
  • Recruitment — target care homes and home-care agencies by region, size (beds) and specialism (dementia, learning disabilities) to place nurses, carers and managers.
  • M&A, investment & finance — map providers by ownership type, bed capacity, brand and Companies House number; pair with our Companies House Scraper to layer in directors and accounts.
  • Market & competitive research — size a region, track a care group's footprint, or benchmark ratings across local authorities.
  • Healthcare suppliers — reach GP and dental practices, hospices and clinics with verified contact data.

  3. Click Start and watch results stream into the dataset table.

What to expect (field coverage)

CQC publishes some fields only when applicable, so a blank means CQC didn't list it — not that scraping failed. Across all ~56,000 active locations you can typically expect:

FieldCoverage
Name, address, region, local authority, geo~100%
Phone (location or provider)~99.8%
Registered manager (named contact)~83%
Provider company + ownership type~100%
Companies House numberlimited-company providers
CQC overall rating~61% (rated services; new & some primary-care locations are unrated)
Care-home bedscare homes (~26% of all locations)
Websitewhen the provider published one

Nothing is dropped, so you always get the richest record available for each location.

Automate & schedule

Run this actor on autopilot and pull results into your own stack:

  • Apify API — start runs, fetch datasets and manage schedules over REST.
  • apify-client for JavaScript and apify-client for Python — official SDKs.
  • Schedules — run it weekly with monitor mode on to capture new registrations, rating changes and closures as CQC refreshes its files.
  • Webhooks — trigger downstream actions (CRM import, Slack alert, email sequence) the moment a run finishes.
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: 'MY_APIFY_TOKEN' });
const run = await client.actor('scrapesage/uk-cqc-care-provider-leads').call({
regions: ['London'],
serviceCategories: ['Care home (nursing)'],
maxResults: 500,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(`Got ${items.length} care provider leads`);

Integrate with any app

Connect the dataset to 5,000+ apps — no code required:

  • Make — multi-step automation scenarios.
  • Zapier — push new care provider leads straight into your CRM.
  • Slack — get notified when a monitored market adds a provider or a rating changes.
  • Google Drive / Sheets — auto-export every run to a spreadsheet.
  • Airbyte — pipe results into your data warehouse.
  • GitHub — trigger runs from commits or releases.

Use with AI assistants (MCP)

The output is clean, LLM-ready JSON. Call this actor from Claude, ChatGPT or any agent framework through the Apify MCP server — ask your assistant to "list every dementia nursing home in the North West with a phone and its CQC rating" and let it run the scraper for you.

Agent-ready: autonomous payments (x402 & Skyfire)

This actor is agent-ready — AI agents can discover it, run it, and pay for it autonomously, with no Apify account and no human in the loop. It uses pay-per-event pricing and limited permissions, so it qualifies for Apify's agentic-payment standards:

  • x402 — an open, HTTP-native payment protocol. Agents pay per run in USDC on the Base network directly through the Apify MCP server — no account, no API key.
  • Skyfire — agent-to-service payments for fully autonomous AI-agent workflows.

Building an AI agent, MCP tool, or autonomous data pipeline? This scraper is ready to plug in and pay as it goes.

Tips

  • Pick a region or service category for a fast, focused run — the actor scans the whole of England, so a filter keeps your dataset (and export) tight.
  • Compliance & training vendors: set ratings to Requires improvement + Inadequate to find providers under pressure to improve.
  • Bigger deals: combine careHomesOnly with minBeds (e.g. 40+) to surface larger, higher-budget homes.
  • Named decision-makers: turn on hasManager to keep only locations with a registered manager or nominated individual.
  • Company enrichment: turn on hasCompaniesHouse, then feed providerCompaniesHouseNumber into our Companies House Scraper.
  • Recurring monitoring: schedule a weekly run with monitorMode on to catch new registrations and rating changes automatically.

FAQ

Where does the data come from? From the Care Quality Commission's official open-data files (the active-locations directory and latest-ratings file), published under the Open Government Licence and refreshed weekly to monthly. The actor always resolves the latest file automatically.

Does it need the CQC API or a key? No. The CQC syndication API requires a subscription key; this actor reads the same (and richer) data from CQC's public bulk files — no key, login or browser needed.

Which countries are covered? England only — CQC regulates health and social care in England. Scotland (Care Inspectorate), Wales (CIW) and Northern Ireland (RQIA) have separate regulators.

Why are some ratings blank? Newly registered services and many primary-care locations (some GP and dental practices) have not yet been rated, so CQC publishes no rating. The field is blank only when CQC has none.

Can I get the five sub-ratings (Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, Well-led)? Yes — turn on includeRatingBreakdown. It parses the full ratings file, so it adds a couple of minutes; the overall rating is always included without it.

How do I monitor a market for new providers or rating changes? Turn on monitorMode, give it a monitorKey, and create a Schedule. Each run returns only new or changed locations, tagged with monitorEvent.

Is scraping this data legal? Yes — it is official open government data published under the Open Government Licence. You're responsible for using personal data (e.g. named managers) in line with UK GDPR and applicable law.
