Search Maven Central and export normalized Java/JVM artifact metadata.
Use it for package discovery, dependency research, SBOM workflows, ecosystem analysis, package monitoring, and automated software-data pipelines without downloading binaries.
Common use cases
- Find Maven artifacts by keyword, group ID, or artifact ID
- Research Java/JVM dependencies and package ecosystems
- Collect coordinates, latest versions, packaging, and timestamps
- Build package inventories or inputs for SBOM-related workflows
- Feed Maven search metadata into datasets or downstream automation
What you get
Artifact rows include query provenance, source rank, group ID, artifact ID, latest version, normalized coordinates, packaging, repository ID, version count, latest-version timestamp, available extensions, tags when supplied by the source, exact source URL, and capture timestamp.

Source
This Actor uses the Maven Central search API at search.maven.org/solrsearch/select. Sonatype's current documentation says the API remains supported for programmatic search and can return JSON. No API key, browser, login, cookies, or proxy are required.
Simple keywords such as spring work, as do documented coordinate-style expressions such as g:org.junit or a:guava.
Maven Central is gradually enforcing consumption controls against unusually high-volume traffic. Requests are serialized, pages are capped at 100 source records, retries back off on 429/5xx responses, and one run can save at most 1,000 billable artifact rows.
Important limitations
The Actor does not download JARs, POM files, source archives, or other binary artifacts.
If a legitimate query produces zero matches, it writes one non-billed complete-no-results summary row so the default dataset is not silently empty. Source failures remain failures and are not converted into false success.
Pricing
Target: $0.25 per 1,000 saved artifact rows ($0.00025 per artifact), only if live private benchmarking clears the factory's 3× platform-cost economics gate. Summary rows are never billed.
Current Store research on October 2, 2026 found a direct Maven Central competitor at $0.50 per 1,000 results, so the target price would be 50% lower if the economics gate passes.
