Google Flights Scraper

This Actor searches Google Flights for route-specific live fares and emits one dataset row per priced outbound itinerary.

Live target configuration

  • Target status: configured_by_known_public_source
  • Target kind: web
  • Source domain: google.com
  • Inputs: origin and destination IATA codes, departure date, optional return date, passengers, cabin, currency, region, stops, and additional routes
  • Local maxItems: 10
  • Production schema default maxItems: 10 (maximum 50)

The Actor requests Google's public Flights HTML and parses its embedded flight payload. Each row includes airline and flight numbers, price and currency, route, departure/arrival, duration, stops, segments, layovers, carbon estimates, fare hints, and carrier links where available. Round-trip searches currently show the round-trip fare alongside outbound options; return segments are not included. If Google presents an access challenge, the Actor reports it without trying to solve it. Optional Apify datacenter proxy retry is available for retryable transport failures and is off by default.

Run locally:

npm start

Then validate the generated dataset against .actor/dataset_schema.json.

Basic local verification

npm start uses this folder's input.json. Accepted live records are individual JSON files in storage/datasets/default/. The local input asks for 10 JFK–LAX priced itineraries. dataset-validator.js checks the generated records without changing or deleting them.
