Search CBP customs rulings by product or tariff code, keyless. See which HTS code Customs actually assigned, read the full ruling, and know whether it was revoked or modified before you cite it. Codes are reformatted automatically so tariff-schedule codes actually match.
Product names or tariff codes, for example "integrated solar panel" or "6109.10.0040". Codes are reformatted automatically: CROSS groups ten digits 4.2.4, so a code copied from the tariff schedule in 4.2.2.2 form would otherwise return nothing.
[]Fetch specific rulings directly, for example N160415 or H305865. These always return the full ruling text, because that is the only thing the ruling endpoint serves.
[]New York rulings are the high-volume classification rulings. Headquarters rulings carry more weight and often decide contested questions.
Newest first is the default because relevance order returns 1990s rulings ahead of current ones.
Earliest ruling date as YYYY-MM-DD. CBP has no server-side date filter, so this is applied after fetching and rulings with no recorded date are excluded.
Drop rulings that CROSS records as revoked or modified. CBP returns those alongside live ones with nothing to tell them apart, and citing one is a real problem at entry.
Fetch the complete ruling body: the reasoning, the product description CBP worked from, and the classification it landed on. Costs one extra request per ruling and is charged at the higher rate.
Remember rulings already returned and emit only ones not seen before. Pair it with newest-first sorting and a saved search to watch for new precedent on your products. Quiet runs cost nothing.
