Rated People Scraper — UK Trade Leads, Ratings & Reviews

Scrape verified UK tradespeople from Rated People by trade and town. For every trader you get the business name, rating (out of 5), review count, recent reviews, service-area polygon, badges, verification status and a direct profile URL — a clean, structured B2B lead list Google Maps can't give you.

Input

• trades — e.g. Plumber, Electrician, Roofer, Bathroom Fitter. Free text is normalized to Rated People's slug and validated against its trade list.
• locations (optional) — e.g. London, Manchester, Birmingham, or a path like west-midlands/birmingham. Combined with every trade (trades × locations). Leave empty to scrape each trade's nationwide top traders.
• expandLocationTowns — for each location, also scrape every sibling postal town Rated People lists (a big volume multiplier).
• enrichProfiles — open each profile for the full reviews, service area, badges and phone.
• onlyWithPhone, maxItems, requestDelayMs, proxyConfiguration.

How it works / limits

• Rated People is a Cloudflare-fronted Remix (SSR) app. Each page embeds its full route data in a window.__remixContext blob, so this actor reads structured JSON — no browser, no DOM scraping. Apify RESIDENTIAL, country GB proxy is required (direct requests get a Cloudflare challenge); it is the default.
• Each search page returns up to 20 traders (measured hard cap — the site does not paginate these listings). Coverage therefore comes from breadth: run many trades × many locations, and/or turn on Expand to nearby towns. numberOfRatings/total are the site's real, location-filtered figures.
• Ratings are normalized to a 0–5 scale. (Rated People's search cards use a 0–10 scale internally and its profiles a 0–5 scale; this actor emits a single 0–5 value.)
• Phone is usually masked/absent on Rated People — treat phone as a bonus field, not a guarantee.

Legality

You are responsible for complying with Rated People's Terms of Service and applicable law. Only ordinary public page loads are used — no login, no CAPTCHA solving, no anti-abuse bypass. Trader records may contain personal data (sole-trader names, phone numbers, review-author first names); handling it lawfully (e.g. UK GDPR) is your responsibility.
