Input
{ "searchQueries": ["Shopify", "plumbing"], "registrySources": ["CC", "ON"], "statuses": ["Active"] }
- Search queries - company names, keywords, or business/corporation numbers, one per line.
- Import from a file - paste a list, or link a public
.txt/.csv, a Google Sheet/Drive link, or an Apify key-value-store record. - Registries - limit to any of the eight participating registries. Statuses - Active / Inactive.
- Max companies bound the run. Output fields trim every record to the columns you need.
Leave everything empty and the run returns a small free sample so you can see the shape first.
Reliability
Reads the official Canada's Business Registries federated search API - public, keyless, no anti-bot. Searches that return nothing bill $0, and rows dropped by your registry/status filters are never charged.
Honest limits
- Coverage is the 8 participating registries (federal CC + ON, QC, BC, AB, MB, SK, NS - measured live). New Brunswick, PEI, Newfoundland and the territories do not publish into the federated search.
businessNumberappears only where the source registry publishes it - federal records carry it consistently; some provincial records omit it. It reflects the registry's own data, not a scraping gap.- Registry-office address granularity varies by registry - city/province are the reliable fields.
- No director names or filing documents - the federated search returns the registry index record;
use the
registryUrlfor the full federal corporation profile.
Pricing
$0.002 per company on the FREE tier (tiered pricing lowers it with volume). Only companies actually saved are billed; empty searches and filtered-out rows cost nothing.
Output views
- Companies - name, status, registry, entity type, city, province, business number, incorporation date.
Use with AI assistants (MCP)
Available through the Apify MCP server - an agent can verify a Canadian counterparty's registration, find every province a brand is registered in, or pull a lead list for a keyword in one call.
Agent-ready: autonomous payments (x402 & Skyfire)
This actor is agent-ready - AI agents can discover it, run it, and pay for it autonomously, with no Apify account and no human in the loop. It uses pay-per-event pricing and limited permissions, so it qualifies for Apify's agentic-payment standards:
- x402 - an open, HTTP-native payment protocol. Agents pay per run in USDC on the Base network directly through the Apify MCP server - no account, no API key.
- Skyfire - agent-to-service payments for fully autonomous AI-agent workflows.
Building an AI agent, MCP tool, or autonomous data pipeline? This scraper is ready to plug in and pay as it goes.

Is it legal to scrape Canada's Business Registries? This Actor collects publicly available data only. Data & lawful use
The source is an official public register, published so that anyone can consult it. Records can name individuals (directors), so the output may contain personal data even though it is public. Under Apify's Standard Actor Contract, which governs your use of this Actor, you are the controller of any personal data in your input and output and scrapesage acts only as your processor: that data is processed solely to run your job, written only to your own Apify storage, never used for any other purpose and never shared onward.
