ANP Weekly Fuel Prices Brazil

Official weekly fuel prices for Brazil from the ANP price survey, at two levels: one row per municipality and product with preco_medio_revenda, preco_minimo_revenda, preco_maximo_revenda and postos_pesquisados, or one row per surveyed gas station with preco_revenda, bandeira (brand), cnpj, razao_social, endereco and cep.

For energy analysts tracking pump prices in the largest ethanol market, fleet teams pricing diesel by city, gas stations benchmarking local competitors, price comparison apps, newsrooms and AI agents. ANP (Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis) is Brazil's federal fuel regulator; every week it publishes a station by station survey as open government data, and this Actor reads that official publication.

What it fixes

• The weekly file changes name every week. The Actor finds the current spreadsheet on the ANP page by pattern on every run, so a schedule keeps working without a new link.
• Two spreadsheets with different columns. nivel picks one, and the dataset has a view for each so tables and CSVs show only the right columns.
• Sole proprietor stations carry the owner's personal tax number in the company name. It is stripped before the row is written (66 such rows in a country wide run of 20,021 stations, none reached the dataset).
• Silent empty results. If the filters match nothing, or ANP changes the page, the run fails with a message naming what was missing.

Field names are in Portuguese, exactly as ANP publishes the columns, so any value can be traced to its source. Every row also carries coletado_em (run time, UTC) and url_origem (the source spreadsheet).

Products, for readers outside Brazil: GASOLINA COMUM (regular gasoline, already blended with ethanol by law) and GASOLINA ADITIVADA (with detergent additives); ETANOL HIDRATADO (ethanol sold as a fuel on its own, for flex fuel cars); OLEO DIESEL and OLEO DIESEL S10 (low sulfur); GNV (vehicle natural gas); GLP (bottled cooking gas, priced per 13 kg bottle, so around 100 to 120 reais). Prices are in Brazilian reais at the pump, taxes included.

Pricing

One charge per row delivered ("Fuel price delivered"): US$ 1.00 per 1,000 on Free, 0.95 on Bronze, 0.90 on Silver, 0.85 on Gold and above. One product in one city at station level (10 rows) costs US$ 0.01; the national municipality summary (about 3,900 rows) about US$ 3.90; every surveyed station in the country (20,021 in the week measured) US$ 20.02. Rows dropped by filters, duplicates and failed runs are free. maxItems caps the cost before you start.

Measured runs: 50 municipality rows in 8 s; 10 station rows for one city in 9 s; 1,000 station rows in 52 s; the whole country at station level (20,021 rows) in 12 min 44 s.

Limitations

• Only the latest published week. The ANP page links only the most recent files; schedule a weekly run and keep each dataset to build history.
• A survey sample, not a census. In the week of 2026-08-30 the station file had 20,021 stations in a few hundred municipalities; municipalities not surveyed that week do not appear.
• No state or national aggregate rows. Aggregate yourself, weighting by postos_pesquisados.
• No coordinates, phones or opening hours. Location is the address, postal code, municipality and state.
• Resale prices only. Distributor and refinery prices are not in this output.
• Read unidade_medida before charting two products together, since LPG is per 13 kg and liquid fuels per litre.

FAQ

Where does the data come from, and is it legal? From ANP's Levantamento de Preços de Combustíveis, published as open government data on gov.br. The Actor downloads the public weekly spreadsheet without login or key. url_origem points at the exact file.

Does it return personal data? No. Stations are businesses identified by company tax id, name and commercial address. Personal tax numbers that ANP prints inside some company names are removed. No phones or emails are collected.

When is a new week available? ANP usually publishes on Friday or Saturday. Save a task with your input and schedule it for the weekend; a weekly national municipality run costs about US$ 3.90.

Why are field names in Portuguese? Because the source columns are; translating them would break the link between a value and its column in the source file. The table above explains each one.

What is this data good for outside Brazil? Brazil is the only large market where drivers choose between gasoline and ethanol at the pump every week, so the ethanol to gasoline ratio is a substitution signal. It also shows how fast oil price moves reach consumers, regional spreads, and brand competition.

What happens if ANP is offline or changes the page? The run fails with an error naming what was missing (the weekly link, the sheet or the header row) and nothing is charged. Open an issue if it keeps failing.
