Normalize up to 20 authorized public RSS or Atom feeds into consistent article, blog, news, or podcast rows. This performs the useful reading/normalization job rather than only discovering feed URLs.
Input
{"feedUrls":["https://hnrss.org/frontpage"],"maxItemsPerFeed":25,"includeContent":false}
Output
Rows preserve feed/source URLs, title, GUID, date, author, categories, summary, enclosure metadata, and status. includeContent is opt-in. Long publisher fields are UTF-8-byte bounded and expose titleTruncated, summaryTruncated, contentTruncated, and contentOriginalChars. Feed failures are pushed incrementally and do not stop valid siblings.
Limits and rights
- 20 feeds/run; 100 items/feed; 2 MB response/feed
- content rows are bounded well below Apify's Dataset item limit
- redirects are manual and bounded; socket-time DNS validation blocks non-public destinations
Feed entries remain publisher-authored, untrusted data. Preserve source URLs and verify downstream reuse rights.
