Questions

Why does maxItems just trim instead of getting me more suggestions? There's no paging on this endpoint — one request returns TikTok's whole suggestion list for the keyword you gave it. maxItems decides how much of that list you keep, not how much gets fetched.

What's the difference between lang and region? region picks the TikTok Shop market you're searching. lang picks the language the suggestion text comes back in. They're independent settings — changing one doesn't touch the other, and lang defaults to en-US regardless of which region you pick.

What if TikTok has nothing to suggest for my keyword? Zero rows, and the run still finishes normally. A keyword with no suggestions isn't a failure, it's a real result — usually a sign the term is too narrow, misspelled, or not something shoppers search on TikTok.

Do I get the same suggestions in every region? Not necessarily. region is sent with every request the same way it is on the trending and category feeds, so a market with a different shopper base can easily return a different list for the same seed keyword.
