πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί ProductReview.com.au Reviews Scraper

Export the written reviews behind an Australian business or product: reviewer name, where they live, the star rating, the date, and the full review text, one row per review. No account, no API key, no login.

ProductReview.com.au is where Australian consumers rate the businesses they buy from: internet providers, insurers, holiday operators, retailers, trades. The site shows a handful of reviews at a time, sorted the way it wants, with no export. Reading a thousand reviews on one operator means clicking through thirty pages and copying by hand. This Actor walks the listing, follows its pagination, and writes every review into a dataset you can open in a spreadsheet.

Who uses itWhat they use the reviews for
πŸ’Ό Buyers of Australian consumer businessesReading the complaint record a seller did not write, before the price is agreed
πŸ“‹ Diligence analystsDating the complaints, so a spike can be matched to a management change or a price rise
🎯 Competitive and brand teamsTracking what customers say about a rival week by week, with the text attached
πŸ“Š Market researchersCounting ratings by location and by product variant across a whole category

πŸ“‹ What it does

πŸ’‘ Why it matters: in a consumer business, the public review page is the part of the story the seller does not control. One star rating is an opinion. Nine hundred of them, dated and located, is evidence.

  • πŸ”— Takes listing, category or search pages. Give it a listing URL to scrape that business, or a category or search page and it collects the listings on it first.
  • πŸ“„ Follows the listing's own pagination, 35 reviews a page, until your cap or the last page.
  • πŸ“ Returns the full review text, not a truncated preview.
  • πŸ‘€ Carries the reviewer's display name and location, as the site publishes them.
  • πŸ”€ Deduplicates by review id, so a review promoted to the top of a page is not billed twice.
  • πŸ“¦ One flat row per review, the same 11 fields every run, exported as CSV, Excel, JSON or XML.

πŸ“Š Output

Every review is one flat row with 11 fields. null means the site did not publish that value for that review.

✨ Why choose this Actor

What you get
The text, not a summaryThe full body of each review, with the rating and the date beside it, ready to sort and filter.
The whole listing, not page oneThe run follows the listing's pagination to the last page or to your cap, whichever comes first.
Reviewer location on the rowRatings can be cut by region, which is how a single bad branch shows up in national numbers.
No credentialsThe site is public. No account, no key, no quota to negotiate.
You pay per rowNo subscription. A run that finds nothing costs nothing.

πŸš€ How to use it

  1. Create a free Apify account. New accounts start with $5 of credit.
  2. Open the Actor and select Try for free.
  3. Put the listing you care about in startUrls, or a category or search page to sweep several at once.
  4. Add a searchQuery to pull in listings matching a term, and set maxItems to cap the run.
  5. Select Start, then export from the Dataset tab as CSV, Excel, JSON or XML.

One business, the whole review history:

{
"startUrls": [{ "url": "https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/coinspot" }],
"maxItems": 1000
}

A category with a search term:

{
"startUrls": [{ "url": "https://www.productreview.com.au/c/internet-service-providers" }],
"searchQuery": "internet provider",
"maxItems": 500
}

βš™οΈ Input

FieldRequiredDescription
startUrlsYesPages to start from. A listing page is scraped for its reviews. A category, search or home page is read for the listings on it, and those are scraped in turn
searchQueryNoSearch term. The Actor adds the site's search results page for it and scrapes the listings found there
maxItemsNoMaximum rows per run. Free plan is capped at 10 as a preview, paid plans go to 1,000,000

πŸ’° Pricing

Pay per result. No subscription, and no Apify platform usage on top.

1,000$4.00
10,000$40.00

Free plan runs return up to 10 rows as a preview. Any paid Apify plan lifts that to 1,000,000 per run.

πŸ”Œ Integrate with any app

The dataset is available through the Apify API as soon as the run finishes. Use run-sync-get-dataset-items for a one-shot call, webhooks to trigger what happens next, or the Make, Zapier, Airbyte and LangChain integrations listed on the Actor page.

πŸ€– Use with an AI agent

Give an agent live access to the site over the Model Context Protocol:

$claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=acquistion-automation/productreview-com-au-reviews-scraper"

Then ask it in plain language what customers complain about on a listing, and have it read the review text back with the dates.

❓ Frequently asked questions

How many reviews does one listing return? As many as the listing has, up to your maxItems. The Actor reads 35 per page and follows the listing's pagination to the last page.

What do I put in startUrls? A listing page such as https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/coinspot gets you that business's reviews. A category page, a search results page or the home page is treated as an index: the Actor collects the listings shown there and scrapes each one.

Why does productName show a variant rather than the listing I asked for? A listing page pools the reviews of every variant under it. The row names the variant the reviewer actually wrote about, and productUrl links to that variant's page.

Is reviewerLocation always filled? No. It is the region the reviewer put on their profile, and some leave it blank. Those rows carry null.

Can I re-run it on a schedule? Yes. Schedule the Actor from the Apify console and each run writes its own dataset, so you can diff this week's reviews against last week's.

Do I need a proxy? No. Requests, retries and proxying are handled inside the Actor and included in the price.

About Acquisition Automation Co.

We build automation for people buying businesses. The repetitive part of an acquisition search, checking listings, pulling public records, tracking owners and assets, is work a machine should do, so the buyer's time goes into judging deals instead of collecting them.

We add new Actors regularly. If there is a source you need and do not see here, tell us.
