Access SEC EDGAR for company filings, 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, insider trading, and financial statements. Track public company disclosures, beneficial ownership, and regulatory filings.
The actor fetches real data from SEC EDGAR by default. The prefilled input (get_company_filings for ticker AAPL) returns Apple's company profile and its 20 most recent filings. Demo Mode is off by default; turn it on only to preview the output shape with sample rows.
Quick Start
Run with real data (no key needed)
{"task": "get_company_filings","ticker": "AAPL","formType": "10-K","contactEmail": "you@yourcompany.com","limit": 10}
Preview the output shape with sample rows (free)
{"task": "get_company_filings","demoMode": true}
Sample rows carry isSample: true and a note saying they are not SEC data. They are never charged.

Data sources and limits (updated 2026-10-22)
Data comes from SEC EDGAR; no key needed. SEC asks everyone who queries EDGAR by script to identify themselves (SEC fair-access guidance), so the actor sends a contact email in its User-Agent header. We recommend entering your own email in contactEmail. It goes only to SEC in that header and is never written to the dataset or the run log. If you leave it blank, the actor uses its own default contact. A ticker is resolved to its CIK through SEC's company ticker list, or pass cik directly.
get_company_filings: the company profile plus recent filings, one row per filing with links (formType,dateFrom,dateTo,limitfilter them).search_filings/search_full_text: EDGAR full-text search (filings since 2001), withtotalHitsand links.get_company_facts: the latest reported value for each XBRL concept (us-gaap and dei), not the full multi-year history.get_insider_trades: the company's Form 3, 4, and 5 filings with links; the transaction lines inside each form are not parsed.get_institutional_holdings: 13F-HR reports filed by the CIK you give. Use an institutional manager's CIK (for example 1067983, Berkshire Hathaway); an operating company such as Apple files none, which returns an empty list and is not charged. Holdings inside each report are not parsed.get_recent_filings: EDGAR's latest filings feed (up to 100), optionally byformType.

Each successful live call charges one event named after the task you ran, $0.01 per call, plus the standard Actor start fee ($0.10 per GB of memory, minimum one) and $0.00001 per dataset row. A run returns one row. No task event is charged for Demo Mode runs, calls that fail or return an error row (for example a missing ticker), and calls that return no rows.
Troubleshooting
"API error 429" or "Rate limit"
Too many requests. Wait a minute and try again, or reduce the number of items per run.
No results or empty dataset
Check the run log for error messages. Common causes:
- Invalid input format (check the examples above)
- The target data doesn't exist or is too small to track
"CIK or ticker required"
The company tasks need a ticker (for example AAPL) or a cik. This error row is not charged.
Do I need an API key?
No. SEC EDGAR is free and keyless. Demo Mode is only for previewing the output shape; its rows are labeled sample data.
