Reliability

The Actor retrieves Google News RSS directly, retries temporary transport, rate-limit, and service failures, validates the XML response, normalizes timestamps, strips snippet markup, deduplicates records, and never emits more rows than requested. Persistent upstream failures fail visibly.

Limitations and responsible use

• Google determines ranking, coverage, publisher attribution, and update timing.
• Result links can be Google News redirect URLs rather than direct publisher URLs.
• RSS search normally returns up to about 100 items and does not provide exhaustive archives.
• The same underlying story can appear from several publishers.
• Respect publisher rights and applicable Google terms when storing or republishing content.
