Watch official Google Search Central structured-data docs for changes that can affect the schema.org types you rely on.
This Actor fetches mapped Google Search Central structured-data documentation and the Search Central updates page, records compact text hashes, scans update snippets near selected type names, and compares the result with your latest saved baseline.
Useful For
- Teams maintaining Product, JobPosting, Event, Article, Recipe, VideoObject, FAQPage, or merchant structured data
- Agencies that want a recurring evidence record for structured-data documentation changes
- Storefront or marketplace teams that already use Structured Data Bulk QA and want a companion watcher
- Release checklists where official documentation changes should be noticed before the next structured-data update
Signals
- Official source fetched or uncheckable
- Update-page retirement, removal, or deprecation language near watched type names
- Update-page required-property language near watched type names
- Mapped documentation page no longer mentioning a watched type name
- Official-document text hash changed since the latest baseline
- Baseline saved when
saveBaselineis enabled
Data Handling
The report stores official source URLs, fetch status, text hashes, matched snippets, and compact baseline state. It does not store full official document bodies.
Billing note
Pay-per-event billing starts only when at least one mapped official source is successfully observed. A successful run records one report event plus one checked-item event for each observed official source. Sources that cannot be fetched are reported as unknown and are not billed as checked items. Invalid input and runs with no observable official source do not create report or checked-item charges.
Limits
This Actor reads public official documentation. It does not run Google's Rich Results Test, inspect your site pages, certify eligibility, promise search display, interpret every documentation change, or replace manual review of official docs. If a source cannot be fetched, the report marks it unknown rather than retired. Checksmith Cats is not affiliated with Google.
