Get annual or quarterly financials for US-listed companies straight from the SEC's XBRL filings. Give it tickers or CIKs and the metrics you want. Each result is one company-period row with normalised numbers, their units and the filing they came from, so every figure can be traced to a 10-K or 10-Q.
It reads only the SEC's own structured financial data (the company facts that every public company files with its 10-K and 10-Q). No scraping of web pages, no login, no insider forms and no named individuals: the data is about companies.
What you get
For each company and fiscal period (one row per company-period):
- revenue, netIncome, assets, liabilities, cash, operatingCashFlow, shares, eps: numbers, not strings. Pick any subset or leave
metricsempty for all eight. - units:
USD,USD/sharesorsharesfor every returned metric. - Filing reference:
accessionNumber, formType, filedDateandfilingUrl(the EDGAR filing index page), plus a per-metricsourcesobject with the exact XBRL concept used, the filing and whether the value was derived. - Period:
periodType(annual or quarterly),fiscalYear,fiscalPeriod(FY, Q1 to Q4),periodEnd. - Company:
ticker,cik,companyName.
Companies tag the same idea with different XBRL concepts over the years (for example revenue is tagged three different ways). The Actor tries a fixed list of concepts in order and tells you which one it used. When a company reports no value, the field is null. It is never guessed or filled from another concept that means something else.
Use cases
- Screen a watchlist for revenue and net income growth without a data subscription.
- Feed an AI agent or spreadsheet with clean fundamentals and a source filing for each number.
- Build a research dataset of balance sheet and cash flow history for a list of tickers.
- Check a company's reported figures against the filing, with the accession number on every row.
Input
{"tickers": ["AAPL", "MSFT"],"metrics": ["revenue", "netIncome", "assets", "eps"],"periods": ["annual", "quarterly"],"years": 2}
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
tickers | US tickers (BRK.B and BRK-B both work). |
ciks | SEC CIK numbers, for companies without a ticker. |
metrics | Any of revenue, netIncome, assets, liabilities, cash, operatingCashFlow, shares, eps. Empty means all. |
periods | annual, quarterly or both. Default annual. |
years | Fiscal years back, 1 to 20, default 3. Annual gives that many rows per company; quarterly gives four times as many. |
asReported | Off by default: the latest filed value for each period, including later restatements. On: the value as first reported, with its original filing. |
requestsPerSecond | Pacing toward the SEC, default 4, never above 5. |
Empty input runs a small built-in example: AAPL and MSFT, annual, the last 3 years, all eight metrics (6 rows, $0.012).

Pricing
Pay per result, one event:
company-period: $0.002 for each company-period row that carries at least two of your requested metrics (one, if you ask for only one).- Unknown tickers, invalid CIKs, periods with no data and error rows are returned free. There is no start fee.
Worked example. 10 tickers, annual, 3 years = 30 rows = $0.06. The same 10 tickers with periods annual and quarterly, 3 years: 30 annual + 120 quarterly rows = 150 rows = $0.30. The empty-input example is 6 rows = $0.012.
Set a maximum total charge on the run and the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached.
Limits and notes
- US GAAP filers with XBRL financials. Foreign private issuers that file 20-F or 40-F, funds, trusts without financial statements and individuals have no 10-K/10-Q data here and come back as a free
notFoundornoDatarow. - Fourth quarters are derived. A company does not file a separate Q4 report, so Q4 equals the annual figure minus the nine-month figure; cash flow quarters are the difference of year-to-date figures. These carry
derived: trueinsources. Per-share figures and shares are never subtracted, so Q4epsisnull. - Restatements. By default the newest filed value wins, so an older year can cite a later filing. Switch on
asReportedfor the original. - Tickers change owners. A ticker maps to whichever CIK the SEC currently lists for it. After a holding-company reorganisation that CIK may have a short history; pass the old company's CIK in
ciksto get its past filings. - Not every concept is tagged. Banks often have no
revenueorliabilitiestotal, and a few companies tag unusual concepts. Those fields arenull. - Data is as filed with the SEC. Figures can be corrected by later filings, and nothing here is investment advice.
FAQ
Where does the data come from? The SEC's public structured data (XBRL company facts and the company ticker list). Requests carry a declared User-Agent with a contact address and stay under the SEC's fair-access limit (this Actor never goes above 5 requests a second).
Does it include insider trades or named people? No. It does not read insider or ownership forms and returns no named individuals, only company financials.
How current is it? Filings appear in the SEC's data within about a day of being filed.
Can I run it on a schedule? Yes. Schedule it on a list of tickers and use the dataset or the API.
