How to scrape an eBay store

Tips

• Use the seller's own store link. On any listing page, clicking the seller's name takes you to the correct URL format. Typing a URL by hand is the most common cause of an empty run.
• Large stores take time. At roughly 50 products per minute, a 9,000-product store needs about 3 hours. Raise the run Timeout under the Input tab if a store is bigger than your current limit, or set maxItems to cap the run.
• eBay limits stores to 200 pages of 240 products, so around 48,000 products is the maximum retrievable per store, regardless of how many the seller lists.
• delivery_info can be empty for some products. eBay only shows a delivery estimate for certain shipping configurations, and the estimate depends on the destination region.
• French eBay (ebay.fr) is currently unavailable. eBay applies stricter protection to that site than to the other 12. All other country sites work normally.
• Schedule regular runs to track catalog and price changes over time — see scheduling.
• Integrate with your stack via the Apify API, or push results straight into Google Sheets, Slack, Zapier, or Make.

Is it legal to scrape eBay?

Scraping publicly available data is generally legal. This Actor only collects public product listings — the same information any visitor sees without logging in. It does not access private account data or require an eBay login.

Our Actors are ethical and do not extract any private user data, such as email addresses, gender, or location. They only extract what the user has chosen to share publicly. We therefore believe that our Actors, when used for ethical purposes by Apify users, are safe. However, you should be aware that your results could contain personal data. Do I need an eBay API key?

No. The Actor works without an eBay developer account, API key, or approval process.

How many products can I get from one store?

eBay caps store browsing at 200 pages of 240 products, so roughly 48,000 products per store. Stores smaller than that are collected in full.

Why did my run return no results?

The most common cause is a malformed store URL — a typo, or extra characters copied along with the link. Open the store in your browser first and confirm the page loads, then copy the URL from the address bar. Runs that collect nothing now fail with an explanatory message rather than reporting success.

Can I scrape several stores in one run?

Yes. Add as many URLs as you like to storeUrls; they're processed one after another, and duplicate URLs are collected only once.
