What does Google Maps Store Review Scraper do?
Google Maps Store Review Scraper extracts customer reviews from any business listing on Google Maps — fast. It works as an unofficial Google Maps reviews API alternative: instead of driving a slow headless browser, it pulls reviews directly through Google's own data endpoints, so you get clean, structured data in a fraction of the time and cost.
Give it a store URL, a Place ID, or a CID and it returns every review with full detail: the review text and star rating, the exact date, reviewer profile and Local Guide status, attached photos, per-service ratings (Food, Service, Atmosphere), business owner responses, and even the store's most-mentioned review keywords.
Why use Google Maps Store Review Scraper?
- ⚡ API-based, no browser — reviews come straight from Google's data service, so runs are fast and cheap. No slow page rendering.
- 🌍 50+ languages & 4 sort orders — collect reviews in the language you need, sorted by Newest, Most relevant, Highest rating, or Lowest rating.
- 📅 Date filtering — collect only reviews newer than a date (absolute like
2026-01-01, or relative like7 days) — perfect for monitoring and incremental runs. - 🔗 Flexible input — paste a Google Maps place URL, a raw Place ID (
ChIJ...), aplace_id:value, or a?cid=link. Mix and match freely. - 📊 Rich per-review data — per-service ratings, visit attributes (meal type, price, parking…), photos, owner replies, and reviewer stats.
- 🏷️ Store review keywords — the popular topics Google surfaces for a place (e.g.
calamari50,sangria43), with counts. - 📦 Ready-to-use output — export to JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, or HTML, or pull it via the Apify API.

How to scrape Google Maps reviews
- Go to the Actor page and click Try for free.
- Add stores — Paste one or more Google Maps place URLs, Place IDs, or CID links into the input field, one per line.
- Set your preferences (optional) — Choose the review language, sort order, and how many reviews to collect per store.
- Click Start — The Actor fetches the reviews.
- Download your data — Export the results as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, or HTML, or fetch them from the Apify API.
How much does it cost?
Because this Actor talks to Google's data endpoints directly instead of running a browser, it uses very little compute — which keeps your cost low. You only pay for the Apify platform usage your runs consume.
New to Apify? The Free plan includes $5 of platform credits every month, which is enough to try the Actor and scrape thousands of reviews before deciding. Unlike the official Google Places API, there is no cap of a few reviews per request and no per-call quota to manage.
Input
Configure the run on the Input tab, or pass the same fields via the API.
| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
Store URLs or Place IDs (Urls) | Array | — (required) | Google Maps place URLs, Place IDs (ChIJ... or place_id:ChIJ...), or ?cid= links — one per line. |
Max review pages (maxCrawlPages) | Integer | 50 | Review pages to fetch per store. Each page ≈ 10 reviews, so 50 ≈ 500 reviews. Set to 0 for all reviews. |
Language (language) | Select | English (United States) | The language for the review data (50+ options). |
Sort by (sort_by) | Select | Newest | Newest, Most relevant, Highest rating, or Lowest rating. |
Only scrape reviews newer than [date] (reviewsStartDate) | String | — | Collect only reviews on or after a date. Absolute (2026-01-01) or relative (3 days, 2 weeks, 1 month). Treated as UTC; empty = all reviews. |
Output
Each review is stored as one item in the dataset. Example (one real review):

Tips
- Choose your input format — A full place URL, a raw Place ID (
ChIJvx7i_BlawokRidb5WfdvqRM), a prefixedplace_id:ChIJ..., or a CID link (https://maps.google.com/?cid=1416786665941882505) all work. - Get the complete review history — Use the Newest sort order to collect all of a store's reviews. Other sort orders are limited by Google and may return only a subset.
- Control volume and cost — Lower Max review pages for quick samples; set it to 0 to pull everything.
- Monitor only new reviews — Set Only scrape reviews newer than [date] to a relative value like
7 daysand schedule a weekly run to catch just the latest feedback — perfect for reputation monitoring. - Automate it — Schedule regular runs to monitor your listings, or connect the output to Make, Zapier, Google Sheets, and other integrations.
FAQ and support
Is it legal to scrape Google Maps reviews?
Scraping publicly available data is generally legal. This Actor only collects information that Google already displays publicly and does not require login.
Our Actors are ethical and do not extract any private user data, such as email addresses, gender, or location. They only extract what the user has chosen to share publicly. We therefore believe that our Actors, when used for ethical purposes by Apify users, are safe. However, you should be aware that your results could contain personal data. Personal data is protected by the GDPR in the European Union and by other regulations around the world. You should not scrape personal data unless you have a legitimate reason to do so. If you're unsure whether your reason is legitimate, consult your lawyers.
Which stores can I scrape?
Any business or place with a listing on Google Maps — restaurants, shops, hotels, auto services, and more.
Can I input a Place ID instead of a URL?
Yes. Raw Place IDs, place_id: values, CID links, and full place URLs are all supported and can be mixed in a single run.
How do I get help?
Found a bug or need a new field? Open an issue on the Actor's Issues tab and we'll respond.
