ZoomInfo Companies Scraper

Why use this scraper

ZoomInfo is one of the largest B2B company databases on the web (revenue, headcount, industry codes, stock ticker), but its own export tools sit behind an enterprise subscription most people evaluating a market, building a prospect list or enriching a CRM never need to buy. The public company profile pages are free to read one at a time in a browser; getting dozens or hundreds of them into a spreadsheet by hand is the part that doesn't scale.

This actor scrapes those public profiles directly. Give it a list of ZoomInfo company URLs and get back structured firmographic data for each: revenue, employee count, headquarters address, phone number, industries, NAICS/SIC codes and stock ticker where public. A search mode is also available to browse ZoomInfo's own company-search listings page by page instead of starting from known URLs. No ZoomInfo login or API key required.

Overview

Input is either a list of ZoomInfo company profile URLs (profile mode) or a search URL/path to page through (search mode). Output is one JSON record per company: full firmographics in profile mode, a lighter summary row per company in search mode. A batch of profile URLs runs quickly since each is a direct page fetch; search mode takes longer per page since ZoomInfo blocks scraping intermittently and the actor retries automatically.

Supported inputs

  • Mode (mode) - profile looks up specific companies by URL; search browses ZoomInfo's /companies-search listing pages. Required.
  • Profile URLs (profileUrls) - used in profile mode. Full ZoomInfo company URLs in the form https://www.zoominfo.com/c/{slug}/{id}.
  • Search URL or path (searchUrl) - used in search mode. A full /companies-search URL or relative path, e.g. filtered by revenue range or industry.
  • Max search pages (maxPagesSearch) - how many search-result pages to walk in search mode, roughly 10 companies per page.
  • Max retries on block (maxRetries) - how many times to retry a page ZoomInfo blocks before giving up on it, 1 to 6.
  • Debug logs (debug) - verbose logging, off by default.

Use cases

  • Sales and business development teams - pull firmographics for a target-account list before outreach, without a ZoomInfo seat for every rep.
  • Market and competitive research - browse a whole industry or revenue band via search mode to map who the players are before a deeper analysis.
  • Data and RevOps teams - enrich a CRM's company records with headquarters, employee count and revenue in bulk instead of one lookup at a time.
  • Investment and diligence analysts - pull public firmographic snapshots (revenue band, headcount, stock ticker) for a list of companies as a first-pass screen.
  • Recruiters and talent teams - use employee-count and industry data to size a target company list before sourcing candidates there.

Because profile mode and search mode share the same output shape for the fields they have in common, a workflow that starts broad (search a revenue band or industry) and then narrows (feed the resulting URLs back into profile mode for full detail) can run entirely through this one actor.

How it works

The actor reads the same public company-profile and company-search pages ZoomInfo serves to a logged-out visitor, parsing firmographic fields directly out of each page. ZoomInfo blocks automated access intermittently; when a page is blocked, the actor retries it up to maxRetries times with a short pause between attempts before moving on.

Input configuration

Profile mode, single company:

{
"mode": "profile",
"profileUrls": ["https://www.zoominfo.com/c/apple-inc/2441797"]
}

Profile mode, multiple companies:

{
"mode": "profile",
"profileUrls": [
"https://www.zoominfo.com/c/apple-inc/2441797",
"https://www.zoominfo.com/c/microsoft-corporation/347751219"
]
}

Search mode, filtered by revenue:

{
"mode": "search",
"searchUrl": "https://www.zoominfo.com/companies-search?revenueRangeMin=10000000",
"maxPagesSearch": 5
}

Output sample

Real item from a production run (profile mode):

{
"zoomInfoId": "2441797",
"slug": "apple-inc",
"name": "Apple Inc",
"description": "Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California, that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services. Founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne...",
"website": "www.apple.com",
"revenue": "$466.8 Billion",
"revenueAmount": 466800000000,
"employees": "10K+",
"employeesMin": 10000,
"employeesMax": null,
"headquarters": "1 Apple Park Way, Cupertino, California, 95014, United States",
"phone": "(408) 996-1010",
"industries": [
"Apple is in the industry of: Computer Equipment & Peripherals",
"Retail",
"Software"
],
"stockTicker": "AAPL",
"naics": "33,334",
"sic": "35,357",
"ceo": null,
"founded": null,
"competitors": [],
"ziRank": 1,
"profileActivity": "Very Low",
"logo": "https://res.cloudinary.com/zoominfo-com/image/upload/w_70,h_70,c_fit/apple.com",
"url": "https://www.zoominfo.com/c/apple-inc/2441797"
}

Search-mode rows carry the same core fields (name, website, revenue, employees, headquarters, industries, url) at a lighter weight, without the full profile fields (description, naics, sic, competitors) that only the profile page exposes.

What makes this richer than the competition

  • pratikdani/zoominfo-companies-scraper (7 users/30d) charges $0.002 per actor start plus $0.025 per company on its free tier, more than this actor's $0.02 for the same category of company-profile fields (revenue, employees, headquarters, industries).
  • bovi/zoominfo-scraper (6 users/30d) charges about the same $0.0199 per company record, but that price is for company data only; it charges an equal amount again per contact/lead record if you also pull the people at that company. This actor stays scoped to company firmographics at one flat per-company price.

Notes & limitations

  • ZoomInfo blocks scraping intermittently on both profile and search pages; the actor retries automatically up to maxRetries times, but a page can still fail after every attempt during a bad stretch.
  • ceo, founded, phone and competitors are only as complete as ZoomInfo's own free public profile for that company; many company pages simply don't publish all of these, as in the Apple example above where ceo and founded come back null.
  • Search mode returns a lighter row per company than profile mode; if you need full firmographics for companies found via search, feed their URLs back into a profile-mode run.
  • This is ZoomInfo's free public profile data, not the private/paid ZoomInfo platform data (verified emails, direct dials, intent data); those fields are not exposed to logged-out visitors and this actor does not access them.

FAQ

Do I need a ZoomInfo account? No, the actor reads public profile and search pages the same way a logged-out visitor's browser does.

Can I get contact/employee names for a company? No, this actor returns company-level firmographics only, not individual people.

What happens if a profile URL is invalid or the company was removed? That URL is skipped and not charged; only successfully scraped companies are billed.

How many companies can I get per search page? Roughly 10, matching ZoomInfo's own search-results page size; increase maxPagesSearch for more.

Why is stockTicker null for most companies? Only publicly traded companies have a ticker; privately held companies return null, which is correct, not missing data.

Can I run this on the Apify free plan? Yes, a single profile URL is enough to test before scaling up to a full list.

Does search mode return the same fields as profile mode? No, search-mode rows are a lighter summary (name, website, revenue, employees, headquarters, industries, url); pass the resulting URLs into profile mode for the full record.

What if two companies share a similar name? Use the exact profile URL, which includes ZoomInfo's own numeric company ID, rather than relying on the slug alone to disambiguate.
