Pokemon Card Price Checker: TCGplayer + Cardmarket Market Price

What is your Pokemon card actually worth? One call returns the real aggregated market price from TCGplayer (USD) and Cardmarket (EUR), the two reference marketplaces the whole TCG industry prices against, for any card, matched from a free-text query like "Charizard Base Set Holo".

2026-09 update: this actor used to read eBay sold listings. eBay now blocks Apify's traffic with 403 on every path (direct, datacenter proxy, residential proxy, all verified, not a guess), so it was repivoted to TCGplayer/Cardmarket's own aggregated pricing via TCGdex. This is a different kind of number: not a stat we computed over scraped comps, but the market price the two marketplaces themselves publish. It's more reliable and free forever, but it does not cover graded (PSA/BGS/CGC) population pricing. See the FAQ.

Both sources are always kept in their native currency: never mixed into one fake number.

Why the numbers are trustworthy

• Real aggregated market data, not listings we scraped and cleaned ourselves: TCGplayer's market price and Cardmarket's trend/avg30 are what the marketplaces themselves compute from actual sales.
• Transparent matching: every result includes matchConfidence (high/medium/low) and alternatesConsidered, so you can tell a confident hit ("Base Set" exact match) from a best-effort guess (e.g. an alt-art secret rare TCGdex doesn't tag distinctly from its "gold" counterpart).
• No account, no API key, no rate limit to hit the primary source: it's a fully open API, verified live.
• Honest about graded cards: if your query includes a grade ("PSA 10", "BGS 9.5"...), the response flags it explicitly instead of silently showing you a raw price as if it were graded.

Pricing

Pay per event: one flat fee per card priced. Cards with no confident match or no price data are never charged.

FAQ

Does it cover graded (PSA/BGS/CGC) prices? No. TCGplayer and Cardmarket price the raw card, not population-report grades: no TCG price API covers that. Grade hints in your query are detected and flagged in warnings, and you still get the raw price as a floor reference.

Why isn't this eBay sold-listing data anymore? eBay blocks all of Apify's traffic paths as of September 2026. TCGplayer/Cardmarket's own aggregated price is actually closer to "what the market says it's worth" than any one platform's sold listings, and it can't go down the way a single scraped source can.

What if my query is ambiguous or uses a nickname? Well-known nicknames that aren't in TCGdex's own card names (e.g. "Pikachu Illustrator", stored there as "___________'s Pikachu") won't resolve: you'll get a clear "no confident match" instead of a silently wrong card. Use the literal set name in that case.

How current is it? TCGplayer pricing updates roughly hourly, Cardmarket daily, both refreshed live on every run.
