Scrapes all Michelin-rated restaurants from Japan's Michelin Guide. Covers every region of Japan — from Tokyo and Kyoto to Hokkaido and Okinawa — extracting the full distinction tier, geo-coordinates, cuisine, price band, and Michelin inspector notes for each restaurant.

Coverage
Japan holds the highest concentration of Michelin distinction worldwide. This scraper covers all ~5,000 Michelin-selected restaurants across all Japanese regions, including:
- Starred restaurants (1, 2, and 3 stars) — Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and beyond
- Bib Gourmand — value-for-money restaurants with notable quality
- Selected — all restaurants in the Michelin Guide that didn't receive a star or Bib Gourmand
- Green Star — restaurants recognised for sustainable gastronomy practices
Usage
Set maxItems to limit results (useful for testing). Leave empty or set to a large number to scrape everything.
The scraper runs region by region, paginating through each region's listing before moving to detail pages.
Notes
- All data comes directly from the official Michelin Guide Japan website (
guide.michelin.com/jp/en/) - Inspector descriptions are in English (the JP guide's English edition)
- Coordinates (latitude/longitude) are sourced from Michelin's own structured data
- Some restaurants may not have a website listed if Michelin doesn't publish one
