What is Backlink Opportunity Finder?
Backlink Opportunity Finder returns one dataset row per link prospect: a public page that is likely to link out on your topic, such as a resource page, a "write for us" page, a "best tools" list, a directory, a podcast looking for guests or an expert roundup. Give it topic keywords and pick the prospect types; it searches live Google results with proven footprints and scores each page for relevance. SEO specialists, link builders and content marketers use it to build outreach lists in minutes, with no SEO tool subscription.
Why link builders use it
- Six prospect types. Resource pages, guest posts, listicles, directories, podcasts and expert roundups.
- Live Google results. Prospects come from current organic results, localised by country and language.
- Relevance score. Each page gets a 0–100 score from keyword overlap, footprint cues and ranking position, and weak matches are dropped before they are charged.
- Clean lists. Your own domain and any competitors in
excludeDomainsare filtered out, and duplicate URLs are removed. - Source query kept.
sourceQueryshows exactly which search found each page.
How to use it
Guest-post and list prospects for two topics, skipping your own site:
{"keywords": ["email marketing", "crm software"],"targetDomain": "hubspot.com","opportunityTypes": ["guest_post", "listicle"],"maxResultsPerKeyword": 25}
UK podcasts and roundups looking for guests:
{"keywords": ["personal finance"],"countryCode": "GB","opportunityTypes": ["podcast", "expert_roundup"],"maxResultsPerKeyword": 20}
| Input | What it controls |
|---|---|
keywords | Topics to prospect, up to 10 |
opportunityTypes | resource_page, guest_post, listicle, directory, podcast, expert_roundup (default: the first three) |
targetDomain | Your own site, left out of the results |
excludeDomains | Competitors or marketplaces to leave out |
countryCode, languageCode | Google market and language (default US, en) |
maxResultsPerKeyword | Saved prospects per keyword, 1 to 100 (default 25) |
maxPagesPerQuery | Google result pages per search, 1 to 5 (default 1) |
minimumRelevanceScore | Lowest score to keep, 0 to 100 (default 35) |
Output: link prospect data you receive
A real row:
{"keyword": "crm software","opportunityType": "listicle","title": "Best CRM software in 2026","url": "https://attio.com/f/best-crm-software","prospectDomain": "attio.com","snippet": "The best CRM software in 2026, compared: Attio, HubSpot, and Salesforce head-to-head on pricing, features, and fit for your team.","sourceQuery": "crm software \"best\" OR \"top tools\" OR \"recommended\"","resultPosition": 1,"relevanceScore": 100,"discoveryMethod": "google_organic_serp","countryCode": "US","languageCode": "en","discoveredAt": "2026-10-02T14:25:14.387Z"}
| Field | What it contains |
|---|---|
url, prospectDomain, title, snippet | The prospect page |
opportunityType | What kind of link opportunity it is |
relevanceScore | 0–100 fit for your keyword |
keyword, sourceQuery, resultPosition | Which topic and search found it, and where it ranked |
countryCode, languageCode, discoveredAt | Market and collection time |
OUTPUT reports the outcome (COMPLETE, PARTIAL, VALID_EMPTY) with prospects saved and any searches that were retried.
Example workflow: a guest-post outreach list
A B2B SaaS content lead plans a quarter of guest posts. They run their five product topics with guest_post and listicle, put their own domain in targetDomain and their two main competitors in excludeDomains, then sort by relevanceScore. The top prospects go into the outreach sheet. They continue with Contact Details Scraper on the prospect domains to find editor emails and social profiles.

Builder's note
I found that link builders spend most of their prospecting time typing the same search footprints, so the Actor runs the proven footprints for each prospect type and scores the pages it finds. I learned that long combined footprint searches can be slow at Google's end, so when one stalls the Actor repeats it with the main footprint phrase and keeps the list moving.
FAQ
Does it send outreach emails?
No. It builds the prospect list; you choose who to contact and how.
Does it guarantee a backlink?
It finds pages that commonly link out on your topic. Whether a site links to you depends on your pitch and content.
Can I search other countries?
Yes. Set countryCode (for example GB, AU, DE) and languageCode.
What does the relevance score mean?
A transparent heuristic from keyword overlap, footprint cues and ranking position. It is a sorting aid, not a domain-authority metric.
Do I need a Google or SEO tool account?
No. Searches run through the Actor's managed Google results access.
